That's my blast cabinet up and ready to do these RS Calipers, however, I refuse to do so till I sort out this sheared nipple on one of the bodies, just ordered a decent vice for the drill, which should arrive tomorrow, Ill nip down to Smith engineering and blag some bar as I'll need to knock up a jig to mount the caliper, it's almost a foot long and is unwieldy to handle.

If anyone's in the hunt for a cabinet there's a bit more to it, the extraction side has to be dealt with, hence the white contraption at the side and the hoover.

Done a pile of mods on it too, mainly the supplied light was woeful, wired in dual LED strip lights, relocated the inlet feed and fitted a flow control valve at one side and an internal connector for changing the gun quickly without fannying about with a hose clamp inside the cabinet.

The media looks the business, 25kg, that should bring the caliper bodies to a well-prepped surface ready for powder coating.

Didn't think I could fit all of this in [emoji1][emoji1022]??????

BTW anyone heard from Kenny of late, was messaging him all of a sudden he's disappeared..

Great setup. Looks the biz. Wish I had the space.

Have you got anything finer for smoothing the finish rather than just blasting it with rocks?

Great setup there Stu. What else is on the bucket list for the man cave?

Oh, didn't have to wait long for that Amit !.. it arrived today, a tidy 6" clamp for the table, christ this thing is heavy, around the 10-kilo mark.

Excellent feel and build quality, negligible slop, and a guide which all decent vices have, time will tell, but by all accounts, it gets a great write-up.

Check it out ! I call it the MOAV..

I'm thinking of glass beads as they give a nice finish, the Aluminium Oxide is a medium abrasive which is perfect for prepping caliper bodies for paint.

Walnut shells too, often used for decoking heads in the Audi RS world.. abrasive enough but gentle on the material.

You can pretty much use anything as a medium as long as the particles are small enough to run through the system..
