I would advise anyone to set all of their controls to quit their riding position. Clutch and brake easy and comfy to get to. Switches in the correct rotation. Clip ons rotated where you wish to be 'nice and flat usually'
If rear sets fitted, try the different peg locations over the same ride to see which works best for you.

Second to that, if you have bought a second hand bike I would strongly advise pulling out the suspension and sending it for refresh and base setting. You don't know what it's done in its life and oil degrades. I would then get it refreshed annually.

Clean up and refresh the brakes as pof showed. Just to ensure you have full effect. Check tyre pressures for bike, rubber, conditions
Then start on filling the bike full of bling.
