as in what ?? I has a replacement micro switch under the clutch lever

ive only done 200mils on my 15 ive also found a problem changing down using the auto blipper it didnt wont to change down from 5th im not sure if you are meant to be in a certain rev range for it to work correctly but it is a right pain in the arse when it dont work also has anybody notice when you switch off the number plate light stays on for about 20 secs it didnt do that on my 11 rr

I can confirm the downshifts get better & better now I have some miles on the bike. Love it now!!

The only time mine has not worked has been when I've held the throttle open very slightly on a down shift - when I thought it was shut. An old habit from blipping the throttle manually, so user mis operation. Other wise faultless.

ive just check the clutch micro switch no click **** new bike i never had a problem with that on my 11 ill ring the dealers later

yes,the numberplate light remaining on is a "feature." Its new on the 2015

cheers stevie i went to cw dorchester for the problem with the auto blipper it just needed to be recailibrated it was a nice day 120mls round trip another 250 to go till the limiter is off i cant wait ill pop out on sun if the weather is ok there a good bunch of guys at CW :nevreness:

ive read that in order to downshift you need to use more force than upshifting, i find mine a bit tough to downshift. first service tomorrow so gonna ask them to have a look

I found that if im on the gas it Down shifts tidy but if your going quite slow its harder and a bit notchy to go down a gear , so at slower speeds I now use the clutch it makes like easier

Should be totally off the gas when down shifting, higher the revs better it works

Lets get this right in my head, so with the throttle closed off but as the engine revs are falling from up high then downshift?

Must admit I never use it if I'm rolling up to a junction for example and slot it down to first, I always use the clutch as it's quite clunky if used when going slow.

I use the clutch for downshifts at low revs and through built up areas.
It works best coming into tight corners at faster speeds without you having to worry about engine speed and clutch timing, and you can just concentrate on the corner.
It was tight for the first dozen tries but is loosening up and working perfect now.

Billo - correct. The 2 things I've found that I do wrong and mess up a down shift are touching the clutch lever (there is a micro switch on it and it knows if your hand is on the clutch applying pressure) and not fully closing the throttle. If you do either , or both, of those things the down shift will not work properly.
I find the up shift and down shift faultless now. The only time I use the clutch is when I come to a stop. Its perfect.

What I don't understand (apart from Chines) is how does the bike rev the engine if the clutch is not disengaged? Cars have auto blips but they work when you depress the clutch. On the S1000 the gearbox and engine are not disengaged as the clutch is not pulled in. Too clever for me! Unless there is a small servo on the clutch?

Similar principle as upshifts only in reverse. Pressure has to be taken off the box (same as pulling in the clutch). As you roll off the pressure's off which enables a gear change to partially take place (as in coming out of gear) the revs have got to be right to select the next gear, higher for down shift hence auto blipper, lower for upshift hence slight delay in shift assist (which is why you shut off then on the throttle quickly when changing up without any electronic assists) In a car, manual, no electronics, it's easier because there's neutral between all gears. Had 2 clutch cables go in my car and had to drive about 10mls changing gear this way lol
Hope this helps :eagerness:

I've mentioned this before and somebody else brought up the same issue, when changing from 2nd to 3rd but accelerating from low revs (changing around 4k) the gear change just won't happen, if I roll off slightly, I suppose reducing the pressure it'll go in nicely but it's something I wouldn't expect when changing up. It works ok with higher rpm and in all other gears especially 3rd through 6th.

Hi ye mine does exactly the same as for the blipper it has to be fully dethrottled before change happens
