Re: Alex - My new toy...

I see that. Actually my eye was drawn more to the link pipe area.. that will probably look better upright and on the move. I see what you mean at the thigh..

2D Potentiometer

Oil tankers have better turning circles than an S1000RR fitted with a 2D Pot sensor!

I agree but with the lock stops fitted it will protect both the potentiometer and also the frame from damage if you are unfortunate enough to have an off on track.

Re: Alex - My new toy...

So it's all going well but I've now found out that I'm missing this;
https://shop.alpharacing.com/shop/i...kremgjnndsuib5r83mmi40&cPath=1_2_55&sort=20a&

And I'll be honest I asked a couple of folks if it was required but never got it confirmed, now I see how the track fairings are not fitting and have to quickly get this sorted or all the effort I made today stripping the bike will have been in vein...and worse I'll have to put it all back on in a rush.

I have to agree. It's a bloody nightmare trying to manoeuvre the bike in tightish spaces or trying to take a sharp left turn. Caught me out a couple of times.

alpha Racing Fairing Mounting Kit

I'm a bit surprised no one told you that as you can't fit alpha Racing fairings to the OEM mounting points without their Dzus bracket kit.

Re: Alex - My new toy...

Indeed. I clearly didn't mention it in the right terms.
Prime Factors have stock. I will get them today.

Glad you can get them today and get the job done without rushing Alex.

alpha Racing

Make sure that you also have their plug set for removing the lights etc.

Yes I have and it's on.
The pack is described as; 1x Front Light, 1x Rear Light, 1x Tank Sensor (Unused, I assume this turns off the low fuel light), 1x Side Stand (unused)

Though 1 question, front lights. Two plugs fit the head lights, and as there are 2 light wires open to the elements, can I use both to cover them?
I have both on and got no warnings with LAMP OFF. Can it hurt to have that in place?

alpha Racing Plug Set

I have one fitted on each headlight as the plugs are identical and another on the rear light. I have not removed the sidestand as it just makes unloading the bike easier. That and you only need to remove the sidestand when racing so the plug remains unused.

Does this just remove the error code on the dash and act as a dust/ water cover?
Something i wouldn't have thought of if removing the road kit.

Re: Alex - My new toy...

Thanks Ryan.

Loupe yeah, I'll do a succinct post later of what I think you need to track prep (minimum). With part numbers and real costs.

alpha Racing Plug Set

You only need to use the fuel tank sensor plug if you are filling the tank with Explosafe; again for race use and safety on track.

Track Preparation

If it helps most of what you need to know is documented in my build thread.

Alex - My new toy...

Remember that post about restricted intake holes, some lump of rubbery plastic.

Well its not in a UK supplied '17 Gen4

So is that what you are calling yours, a Gen4? Eh?

I'm not comfortable with it but if you think about Gen1 vs Gen2, are the changes not similar in number between the Gen3 and '4' to make it a new Gen?
