I've got a fairly standard 2015 bike, with the standard exhaust and have had a few comments from friends/family telling me to replace it with something a bit sexier.

Big question - is it worth it? I know the value of the replacement is in the eye of the beholder (and maybe a bit extra come resale time), therefore, a very subjective and personal opinion, but lobbing a ?600 can on is a lot just to look at it when you're not actually riding it. It might sound a bit sweeter too - but does it make any more horses (not that it's needed on the road). If it could produce more power, do I need to take it to a specialist tuners? Are there any insurance implications, or is it usually just a case of informing them with no fee adjustments due?

I'm in the same boat. It's purely for appearance for me but also you need to watch for the increased dB's for trackdays. SC project is my favourite just now but is known to be loud. An end can shouldn't need fuelling adjusted but no harm to get a base run.

+ points for a change;
Weight reduction
more noise if you like that sort of thing
Better looks

- points
more noise - won't get on track
cost.

I think you're better off getting a full system that is better looking and meets track day noise levels but that's my priorities not yours.

Exhausts

You will see very little, if any, differences in power or torque with just a slip-on fitted on the 2015+ model. The standard OEM exhaust system is extremely free flowing and is very good. Akrapovič and Arrow both offer some very good alternatives that will meet trackday noise regulations, without the need of purchasing a full system, and which suit all budgets.

Re: Exhausts

Have to say that looks wise I think the oem exhaust looks like a bit of a dustbin. I would change it. One of the factors that decided me to get the bike I did was that it had an Akro full system in place of oem.
What about a good secondhand system to keep cost down?

Ryan, did the arrow works end can you had have a removable baffle? I just watched a video on YouTube and the baffle was tack welded in place. I would have thought it would be held in with a small screw so it could be replaced again.

Arrow Works Titanium Slip-On Exhaust

When I previously had the Arrow exhaust fitted it didn't come supplied with a baffle nor was one available. It was particularly noisy at full throttle and I was black flagged on a trackday for triggering the drive-by noise meter. If you are considering spending more time on track I would avoid fitting this exhaust.

I have two can terminals, the Akra for street and the powertech (with Austin decal) for track days. The power tech is in ebay, good, not to expensive and sound amaaaaazing.

Seems like I'll be keeping the standard one for track and arrow for the road haha. Will take stock exhaust in van incase of any black flags.

If you're just after appearance, i've got a racefit growler. It has a removable baffle - so should be within track day Dbs. But i cant confirm.

But aesthetically i love it and without the baffle it's an assault on the ears definitely!

I think that would attract too much attention for my liking :)

I'm going to go for the Arrow works one.

Thanks anyway
