Haha. This brings back memories...watch the Acetylene bit. If anyone has used welding/cutting gear knows you light the Acetylene first, it gives of thick horrible smoke then you feed in the Oxy... anyhow 1981... daft me and Rab Connolly another 2nd year apprentice lunatic decided to see what would happen if we filled a bin bag with Oxygen and lit it , I tied tissue round a brush handle and Rab lit it leaving your truly to stab the bag....holy f uck! BAAAAAAAANG.. we almost blew up the workshop, ceiling tiles, strip lights...the whole lot down ... resulted in 2 written warnings and boot right up the arse from the bosses ..... those were the days.. Phipps Motors Helensburgh, what a place to work..lol.

Don't think I'd be as keen as him to peer through the top with the acrylic cover though!

Yes Stuart good story that, but we all do daft things don't we? Reminds me of a time at work when we had been charging up a heavy duty truck battery many years ago. I wanted to take it off charge but didn't turn off the charger first...........Well there was the biggest BANG I've ever heard, my head was over the battery at the time and I got the full force of the top of the battery followed by all the acid full in the face!!! Luckily there was a bucket of water nearby and I was able to plunge my head straight in and wash the acid from my hair, face and eyes. My overalls and shirt just fell to bits. My ears were ringing like you wouldn't believe, probably for days after. Needless to say I never did that again. At least you had an excuse Stuart as you were an apprentice, I wasn't so fortunate as I was the foreman FFS

Great story there RR.. lucky the water was to hand or your face would look like a melted candle lol... cool vids, the bottom one was posted on here recently but worth a watch still.
