Using my bike to ride to and from work every day (unless its snowing) so I guess applying ACF-50 would be a good idea....? My question is do I just buy a couple of cans and do it myself or get someone like www.allyearbiker.co.uk to spray it professionally?

I'm sure you're capable of spraying it. Just get the important (read expensive hot bits) parts, avoid rubber. I don't ACF until the salt goes down on the roads. But it could be argued that if you're in the wet a lot a monthly coating wouldn't harm.

This stuff for it to work properly ideally needs to be sprayed on at high pressure using a compressor, the stuff in the cans is ok for coating bits and pieces but it is messy and comes out far too heavy, you also want to keep it well away from the brakes and tyres too as you might as well spray oil straight them!

As for getting it on the rubber, it won't do a thing to it, i've used the stuff for at least 7 years now and it's never caused a problem on any of my bikes :)

Cool I'd been told to avoid the rubber bits. Won't worry in future
