Haven't been out on my road bike for a few weeks, so when my wee mate Mick fancied a midweek run I jumped at the chance.
Always fancied the Glenshee Road as a loop, me, Rob Carson and mates almost done it a few weeks ago but ran out of time.
With Glenshee in mind we set of at 10am from Balloch, up to the Welly, Dalmally twisties, crossed Connel Bridge, "I really need to stop there sometime and take pic's, the scenery at the bridge is simply astonishing". Hugged the coast road (Loch Linnhe) up to Fort Bill stopping at Creagan Bridge for pics.
A86 to Kingussie and on to the A95 Cockbridge to Tomintoul Road dropping down into Royal Deeside, Ballater, Braemar, through Glenshee, Blairgowrie, Braco, bit of the A9 to Stirling, Drymen and Home. All told 350 miles, 11 hours of which 9 were in the saddle.
Weather was stunning, hot and sticky matching our tyres, got a charge on in places but on the whole we took it easy and soaked up the views for a change. I've added some pics for those that fancy the same route..
