Re: 2022 S1000RR Update

As for a track only package, BMW have recently outsourced that with a partnership with alpha Racing to build STK specification bikes for customers for race and trackday use (see weblink below).

Interesting! Looks like Alpha and BMW are streamlining the whole trackbike setup. That's a very good idea.

It makes complete sense if you are a customer wanting a BMW STK race bike. Price wise it?s pretty good as well especially when you consider how much it costs to build a competitive STK bike.

Re: 2022 S1000RR Update

It appears that there will just be one model S1000RR next year and you just order it with whatever package/options to suit your budget and needs. Makes perfect sense to offer just one base bike then upgrade to what suits your needs/budget.

But the Alpha/BMW STK package is really interesting. And the price is not actually that considering the spec https://racebike.alpharacing.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/rc-stk-s_technicaldata_partslist.pdf

It seems a much better package over the M 1000 for someone (who is wealthy enough) who may be just using that bike on track work.

Can you order it through your local BMW dealer?

Feels like Alpha/BMW are missing a trick here by not offering this bike through dealer networks.

Doubtful considering all the warranty implications and the complete lack of M RCK knowledge/support available at most BMW dealerships. Far easier for BMW to just outsource and sell via alpha Racing. Most customers wanting to build a competitive BMW STK bike will know where to go anyway.

Agreed. Always wondered why manufacturers don?t offer factory track prepped versions of their sportbikes.
KTM used to sell the RC8R aaand an ?RC8R Track?

I think Aprilia offers it as well

Race Bikes

To be fair most of the main manufacturers will be able to supply you with a bike for race/track use. You just need to know where to look. For example if you want a brand new track only Yamaha R1 or R6 you need to visit one of the four GYTR Pro Shops in the UK. If buying a Honda you just need to speak to a HRC dealer like Padgetts. Suzuki, Kawasaki, Aprilia etc all have similar programs. The manufacturer race programs are normally run separately to the main motorcycle dealerships and the bikes normally come supplied with a blank frame and no V5C and are stamped for race use only. The reality is specialist race bike sales are a niche market and for BMW it?s simply easier to use a partner like alpha Racing. That and most trackday riders will normally just buy a standard road bike and then convert it themselves at relatively low cost.

Don't know how well that will work with Carnet's and shipping...

Whilst *I would buy a crate STK* because that is all I want, I personally can't do that cash whereas I can hp a bike then mod it.

Works straight forward with Carnets as you put either frame or engine or serial number.
