2017 abs not flashing when ignition on?

Traded in a 2014 for a 2017.when I switched on the 2014 both abs and traction lights flashed when switching on then went out after riding forward a couple of metres.On the 2017 the traction light does the same as before but the abs light stays permanently on until I roll forward a couple of metres then goes out? Is this normal? Also noticed the rear brake pedal stays firm a lot longer than the 2014 model? Thanks in advance.

the bike has to move forward for the bike to know the traction ring and wheel sensor (which controls the ABS) is working properly,so as above,is normal.
