2013 s1000rr odometer

Hello my odometer started to Flash after i unpluged the battery to fit a USB phone charger. Could the charger cause it ? as I read that the odometer might be from different bike and its not showing the true millage of the bike thats why its blinking. Is dealer the only way to fix it? Thanks

if it's not the original dash, then yes the odo will flash to show the mileage isn't correct, but will still work fine

mileage is recorded in both the clocks and the ecu
if the values in the clocks vs ecu are different the mileage will flash
a dealer used to be able to fix.. but they can now only reprogram brand new clocks brught from them

i replaced the clocks on my bike as the rev needle stopped working
crowe performance managed to reprogram some 2nd hand clocks to fix the flashing mileage
(still had the orginal clocks.. can't remember if he needed them to fix.. think it made fxiing easier)
