    New switchgear campaign

anyone who has got "iffy " switchgear or failed switches get on to your dealer as they are doing a replacement drive if you've got problems. They just replaced both sets on my bike free of charge even though I'm 3 yrs out of warranty. This is now my 3rd set.

    rear brake issues

It sounds like air trapped in the rear circuit, it happens & is a bitch to bleed out to as you need a pressure bleeder. It's happend A few times to me, starts as a spongy rear brake & goes after a few pumps..... Do not adjust the free play as when the fluid expands so does the air!!

    Electric Issue - Starter/cutout switch

This is a very common fault, breakdown on the shoddy switchgear they should fix it gratis as they know its crappy and also found out the starter is as cheap as chips & fails quickly along with the wheel bearings and the hydraulic cam chain tensioner will all fail before 30,000 miles! not proper...

    Occasional Trouble Starting Bike

Sounds very much like the faulty kill switch I'm afraid mine did the same before permanently giving up! What year model are you? They fixed both my switch gears even though I was out of warranty under goodwill. Nothing more annoying than breaking down outside a bike shop that doesn't do bmw's :(
