ive heard of a similar issue on a GS (coating of engine casing peeling) ...it was purely cosmetic but BMW replaced the whole engine under warranty.

Hi folks....quick question: I've just noticed that the steering on my '17 has developed a spongy feel when on full right hand lock where as the left hand lock has a very definite stop. It's almost as if something is trapped in the way (wiring or cable restriction?) but i can't see any issues...

Would love to find a fix for this ...very annoying! :-/

Cheers Jordan.....it wasn't the first LEDs that i was considering, yeah they look crap.....jump to 9:00 for the ones i'm considering ;) Would be interested to hear from anyone who has installed them first though?? Especially if i have to order from the US :-/

Hi Oli, thanks for your info....please could you tell me what the shorting issue was doing to the bike? Was it TC related? I did 3000 miles on mine without any issues, but the problem started when i went away with my girlfriend (and 20kg Ventura tail pack) for the first time. I did wonder...

Hi Kenny, traction control is deactivating itself randomly.....the bike is a death trap....believe it or not this is the 2nd RR i've had with same problem! BMW UK head tech has spent some time with the bike trying to fix it but he can't find the problem.....so has suggested changing the whole...

Maybe ask BMW if they could try a '17 alternator?

Is your bike still under warranty? I know cush rubbers are usually classed as "consumables" but they wear out so quickly on the RR that I had mine replaced 3 times (in 12k miles) under warranty on my '15

Hi folks, has anyone had their wiring loom replaced by BMW? If so, did you experience any problems with the bike moving forward? Should I be concerned about any potential issues further down the line. Thoughts would be appreciated....Thanks ;)

i'm pretty sure this is why they uprated the alternator on the '17 model......my '15 had all sorts of electrical gremlins, including the mysterious disappearing lean angle display! I wonder if the new 17 alternator would fit the 15 model??

Its the ignition switch Nevman.....I had mine fail TWICE on my 15RR...it's a really common issue (cheap switches or a bad batch??) It's under warranty so let your dealer know and they'll order a new one for you. They have to be coded to your chassis at the factory but only usually take a week or...

fitted mine today....it doesn't actually sound that much louder than the stock one but it's a much deeper tone. Will test out on the road asap to see if it's more effective??
