Very strange question, I know that but I just need to know if a gen 2 engine (12-14) can fit into a gen 3 frame (15-current). I would have thought that there would be some differences?

Yeah but when you have been on a euro track day and forgot your key, you will understand the need for keyless ignition! So, it looks like you cannot just flash the ecu and do away with the key? It must need to read the chip in the key does it?
