    BMW S100RR Stolen

Hi, my bike was nicked last Tuesday night about 11pm. Totally opportunistic and random. Popped into a shop for five minutes, came out and it was gone. Must have been lifted into a van as there are very few places it could have gone undetected in the time it took me to realise. Found a tool on...

Rusty Sump cover & faulty switches

I've had my bike for over 4 years and 12000 miles now. AFAIK the sump has never been replaced, but I am on my third set of switches now. This doesn't bother me at all, because if there is a problem and it is acknowledged then all is well. I would not agree to paying for the replacement switches...

    General questions on S1000rr

I've had my bike for four years and never experienced problems with neutral, but I agree that the shift has to be more positive. My brakes got a bit soft when i changed pads but it turns out they weren't bled properly. If it has a quickshifter remember that it is to be used only on the up-shift...

    Trade in prices

Try and sell your bike privately or pay off the finance and keep it. You know your bike will be for sale for 9 or 10k a week later so don't give them the opportunity. Sell it for whatever you think is a good margin between trade in value and full retail if you are in a hurry, if not then just...

BMW Track and training events with FE

Well I had another day with them. Instructors were Niall and his two sons, the younger one who races in moto2 whooping my ass on a gixer6, Steve Plater and Kevin from FE was instructing on the stabiliser bike. Much better this time around, in fact it was loads of fun, you won't learn much unless...

    nasty vibration

Check your suspension settings. My bike was fine when I ad the standard sport settings, but as soon as i set it up differently it started vibing badly just over 90. Could also be wheel balancing

    BMW Track days

Well I just attended my second one and it was a lot of fun, experienced riders probably won't learn much but for novices it is quite informative and if the weather is good more fun than a standard track day.

BMW Track and training events with FE

Baz I have another day booked through BMW on the 30th, but; Instructor was Niall and some bloke from FE. (NO instruction actually just followig them around) Not sure what group we went out with. Can't remember how many sessions but that wasn't the gripe. The gripe is that there was no...

    Powercommander and standard exhaust.

I have just fitted a power commander to my bike. It still has the standard exhaust but i thought I would fit it anyway until I get an exhaust. The bike only has a K&N filter. I fitted the standard map from their website but I am getting a few problems. It seems to rev up slower than before, it...

Mainbeam and hazard warning switch needs replaced

I had mine replaced under warranty and the one I have now still works but all the writing has faded off. If you can find out how many have needed to be replaced and go through bmw customer services you might be able to get some goodwill towards it as it seems to be an inferior part?

BMW Track and training events with FE

HI all, After my poor experience with the above I am compiling feedback for these events. If anyone has been to the events if you could pm me and I will send you a short feedback form. The more responses I receive the more accurate my feedback can be. Thanks

    Reliability? Known faults??

I have one of the early 2010. No issues at all apart from the labels on the left hand switchgear fading. I had it changed once before but it's happened again, this time within 1000 miles. No wet use and kept indoors. But it doesn't bother me anymore. When the bike is clean it still looks brand...

    Grey Volkswagen w40 v8 tonight 7.30ish

Sad to hear mate, but generally car drivers don't care if they are going to knock you off, in fact they can deliberately try to knock you off as you have found out, and if you haven't been hit you should not get involved, after all you can disappear into the distance and he will still be there...

Focused Events BMW Track Training Silverstone 30th July

Hold on!!!! At this rate the places will be gone by the time i can book!!! :disgust: Jokes. Thanks for this I would love to, unfortunately I do shiftwork and I'm training at that time so I won't know what I am doing for a few weeks yet. Snetterton 21st May

8,9,10 on the rear as per the book. I weigh 70kg without kit. I thought it might be something to do with the rear but I have no idea what to change. I spoke to a couple of the MSV guys there but they all thought i meant a normal tankslapper/power wheelie coz all they said was keep it pinned and...

Focused Events BMW Track Training Silverstone 30th July

I went to Silverstone and it was frankly disappointing!!!! I would have recieved better instruction from an individual instructor at £20 a session.

    Snetterton 21st May

Guys not to hijack your thread but I was on the 200 the other day and coming out of chapman on to the back straight is a bit bumpy and I had to use a bit of back brake to keep the front down, not a problem. However coming out of murrays onto the front straight in second gear, no matter what line...

    Silverstone Focused Events 14th May

I went. What a load of crap!!!!! It was supposed to be a track/training day to get the most out of the DTC ABS etc, but was there any training? No. Absolute waste of time and money. Go around the track behind the instructor for a few laps, anything learned? any feedback? NO Get on the 125's and...
