    Mirror Adjustment (Not on RR)

They do... eventually... took way more persuasion (and wd40) than expected though. Next trick is to make the b*****d lock tight again, now everything's where it should be.

    Annual Insurance Rant

I pay Bemoto just under a grand for 2 RRs and an R, right on the edge of London, and with a claim from 2021... which really did not affect the premium much, £10-20. Go figure... I don't know if days to expiry affects renewal quotes, but I always sort it as early as I can.

    Mirror Adjustment (Not on RR)

I'm trying to fix the mirror on the 2020 S1R (old shape). The right hand OEM stalk mirror was dislodged, and it now flaps about when I am riding. When you pull up the rubber cover you see two nuts, as per pic, which need to be adjusted. They look like they should separate, with the bottom one...

    Worst jobs on these bikes

Don't worry Alex, I have never seen it that tidy, practically it's a single garage!! 😇

    Dealer insight on mods ?

That's a weird one - you spotted it on the day you collected it, but after you had ridden away, yet they said no? I had paint corrected under warranty, on my R after about 6-9 months because it was in a hard to notice spot... but once you noticed you couldn't unsee it...

    Motorcycles in bus lanes

Also completed, doesn't take long (and they only ask you to justify the first couple of responses)

    New to me S1000 RR

We were going to a track day at Cadwell (from London), followed by a few days riding through Yorkshire and Wales. I did the whole thing in leathers, but due to the heat he rode up in lighter gear and packed his leathers into the luggage system (partially explaining the weight). Near Cadders one...

    New to me S1000 RR

If you go for Ventura just be careful about recommended weight. As Immortal Indian can attest, it will not hold 55kg :ROFLMAO:

Unfair PCP & HP deals - £1000 compensation

This is interesting. I have always thought that BMW interest rates were expensive, this might explain why... Even so, I've bought a few bikes via BMWFS in this period. However, when I bought a BMW car in 2018 I distinctly remember the sales manager being very disappointed when he learned I was...

    Lind BMW Norwich to close

Surely they will just transfer all the good stuff to their other motorrad dealership? Chester Motorrad converted to KTM last year and they did a sale of BMW stuff a couple of weeks ago but there didn't seem to be that much there

    Recall code 0046630000?

It's a 5 minute job, some dealers just let you turn up without an appointment

    Akra End Can

Lol. Gen 2 manual is about 130 pages, read it many times. Gen 4 manual is 300+, never read it, will take a look, cheers.

    Akra End Can

At this stage I wasn't really planning anything more than a slightly better noise! Sad, I know... I think the racefit gave me more bhp and a better power/weight rato, given that it's one tenth as heavy as oem. I'm sure the akra does that to a lesser extent, its nowhere near as light as the...

    Akra End Can

My 21 RR came with a Racefit end can, which sounds amazing and makes you smile... but it's too loud for many tracks. I did buy an OEM end can for that, so I can just swap between them as needed. I'm wondering if the Akra end can is a good compromise. The OEM end can is too quiet, and doesn't...

No bike track days at Silverstone in 2024

So, apparently the reason is nothing to do with track repairs. The track days are not popular enough... https://www.visordown.com/news/general/silverstone-cancels-2024-motorcycle-track-days

    Garage Flooring

Happy New Year everyone. I have been thinking about putting down some floor tiling in my garage. I have a fairly modern garage (12yo), with a concrete floor. It isn't quite smooth enough for my bike stands and mechanics chair, all of which have small castors, to move around as freely as I'd...
