    Winter plans?

    Yup, I'd go Evotech too.

    2025 S1000RR

I checked out the equivalent spec of R to my bike. It is 4k more than what I paid... it might look like more like a Streetfighter, it doesn't have to cost the same

    Winter plans?

IF... you drill into the sealed unit, which BMW don't want/expect you to do... that's defo the case for non-DDC OEM rear suspension - I can't speak for DDC unit, I was clarifying Mr Smooth's suggestion/question re servicabilirt of nonDDC.

    Winter plans?

I believe the conventional shocks are sealed units and should not be serviced... Of course, some people can drill in to them to service them. I'm still thinking about whether i'm going to put a new shock on my 12 year old bike, It definitely feels as if it needs one some days...

    Winter plans?

mm. this is escalating rapidly. I'm designing a mini paint studio.... When I first read Alexs reply, my reaction was 'well if I'm paining them, they're staying blue...' ... and of course that turns out to be completely possible and limited only by my abilities. Having checked another thread on...

    SJParker's Blue Fire S1000RR Gen 2

Indeed, that's why i called myself an extra. If I'd had a speaking part....

    SJParker's Blue Fire S1000RR Gen 2

I am an extra in the latest 44 teeth vid - about 19 mins in. I didn't know it was BvG, I was near Vines and I saw someone testing the new GSA, asked if it was any good. He shouts over that he used to have a bluefire. I didn't get a chance to tell him I knew that - at the same time he rode his...

    Winter plans?

Where do I start.. over the summer I turned my garage from a dumping ground with motorbikes in it, into a proper garage: Duramat flooring (with thanks to Mr Smooth for help with that), better ceiling lighting (LED hexagon lights), wall cupboards etc. I also got some extra electrical sockets...

    Rear sets?

(apols if i've posted this before). I don't mind the Gen 4 pegs when road riding, but just can't get used to them on track. I had a word with Peter Hickman about footrests at the London bike show... complained that I found the Gen 2 more comfortable than the Gen 4. I think the pegs are both...

    SJParker's Blue Fire S1000RR Gen 2

Nice. I'd been thinking of doing similar for one if my bikes, but I hear mixed things about alcantara, will be interested to hear what longer term experience is. Where did you get it done? There's a place near Brands Hatch that looks good for me.

    2024 S1000RR seat height.

Sadly I'm not about this weekend Ajj. Maybe some other time.

    2024 S1000RR seat height.

Interesting. I still prefer the seating position on the Gen 2. I don't have any obvious issue with the seat height of the Gen 4, but there's something else I don't like, haven't worked it out yet. Maybe the pegs are higher, or further back on the frame? It just feels harder to move myself round...

    Slightly distorted bead rim

...says my Gen 4s first MOT. Slightly is doing the heavy lifting there, it's very subtle but it's definitely there. I won't bother posting a picture cos you can't see it. How quickly should I be running off to Motoliner in Maidstone with this, do folk get it repaired immediately, or if you...

    Barnstormer Maidenhead closing next week

Vines hold all the marketing bikes as the UK head office is near to Guildford, may have something to do with that, given how much work he does with BMW these days he grew closer to 'corporate'. However I agree that he didn't sound happy about whatever happened. I hope bikeracer does meet up with...

    Barnstormer Maidenhead closing next week

Lind closed just as quickly. Chester Motorrad moved to ... KTM i think... As that email showed, Maidenhead was originally in Bracknell. I went in there th day after I passed my big bike test to enquire about the F800ST. No, the salesman said, you want a GSA... ***** no I don't, thought I, and...

    SJParker's Blue Fire S1000RR Gen 2

Actually found the pics quicker than expected.... 2 pics of the Gen 4 (May 21 I think, someone said it started life as a red bike) and another of a very low mileage bike they had taken in, formerly owned by some bloke called James May. It had done 1900 miles in 8 years (pic taken in Oct 2020)...

    SJParker's Blue Fire S1000RR Gen 2

On a blue fire Gen 4, no imagining required, Bahnstormer did one 3 years ago, I'll dig out the pic later. The rear suspension is not technically a serviceable unit. Some places fudge this but they have to drill into it to open it. My last conversation was about replacement rather than...

    SJParker's Blue Fire S1000RR Gen 2

Mine has done 24k. I was tempted to paint my Gen 4 the same colour :-) Do you still have original suspension sjparker? My brain (and riding newer bikes) has convinced me I need to refresh it over the coming winter... Already had a chat with the famous Perry on the matter
