All this sounds like the very reason to buy BMW Approved Used (and pay the premium)? Reading the thread its worked as it should, two issues came up and were fixed and there was a loan bike available.
It's kind of like those signs that say "SLOW - x number of motorcycle accidents in 12 months" - guaranteed to be a good road IMO.
Want to know which roads to head for in Germany - the ones that are closed at the weekends :calm:
Thought I would start a thread to put up the odd picture or two of the bike.
Was up and out early on this Sunday morning, London -> Hastings to get some nice empty roads. Not been that way for 10 years or so and it turns out there is now a biker cafe in the village where I grew up. (Route 1066...
Just to let anyone know that is looking for a set of levers, I was sent a 5 Euro discount code from bs-motoparts.com/en/ who seem to have re-branded to http://www.motea.com/
PM me if anyone wants to make use of it.....
Finally sorted. Let the WD40 work overnight and a set of molegrips got traction. Thats the second bolt that has done that, might swap a few out for aftermarket sets now.
Thanks for the replies. But I actually need to reuse the ball joint that I can't get off the old shifter. I need that to be transferred to the new rearset. Last hope would be to Dremel the bolt face off but would rather just have a new one in the post.
Had one of those evenings where a simple job turns into a disaster.
Was removing the LHS rearset to fit the newly arrived HP items and I stripped the bolt holding the QS to the selector. And then to make matters worse the EZ-Out/extractor broke off in there as well.
But looking at the...
I saw a few 98db Donington days go up, was curious about the noise limit but see that they have the 2015/16 S1000RR as a hire bike... so all good I hope.
Saw the same bike at the same show !
Had GSXR-1000's since 2009. Saw a black 2015 S1000-RR at bike show. Hired one for a long weekend and found it very easy to ride, think the accelerating, floating wheelie out of an uphill right hander did it for me :chuncky: - As much as I've loved...
I've decided to get one of these: http://www.helmetcity.co.uk/oxford-gps-tracker/
suits my needs, but the scope of the device is more limited than others. I like the fitted battery.
Have been on Racetec k2 and k1 before on some very cold days and qualifying sessions and not had a problem. I do usually use warmers but plenty of time in a 20 minute session to take the time yourself to ensure heat gets into the tyres.
Just ordered.
Not sure if anyone else saw the same, but when I did a checkout, if I paid in Euros, it was free shipping (but not if I paid in ?GBP)... Anyway, hopefully will also have nice new levers arriving next week.
