    2025 M1000RR: updates are coming

So will the R1 apparently, but not for road use.

    Bridgestone S22.

Maybe the slide control will compensate for any loss of grip. Neevesy seems to rate it.

    2024 S1000RR seat height.

My new 2024 bike was delivered today and the rear adjuster does have more threads showing than my 2022 bike had. I guess the adjuster could be reset to the same height as the 22 bike, and the yokes dropped 10mm, but I'm going to have the seat foam trimmed around 20mm first. So it matches the BMW...

    Bridgestone S22.

I understand that, but are they anywhere close to the Rosso Corsa 4's that I've just done around 4k on? If not I'd rather take the new S22's off and put whatever I get for them towards new RC4's. Which incidentally weren't that far behind the Supercorsa's I had on my 1299S.

    2024 S1000RR seat height.

The Brembo calipers certainly didn't lack power. When my ABS was playing up I tried braking hard from 70 mph to see if the ABS was off, that was the biggest stoppy I've ever done . And The BMW calipers on my Gen 4 were very sharp when coming to a standstill.

    2024 S1000RR seat height.

The pegs felt a lot higher on my Gen 4 than Gen2. According to BMW the seat heights are the same on the 22 and 24 S1000RR, but the salesman that just sold me my 24 reckoned the 24 could be higher due to the M geometry settings. Anyway the seat is going to have the foam chopped so it's the same...

    Bridgestone S22.

My heart sank a little when I saw my new 24 S1000RR has S22's fitted. I'm not claiming I'm faster than these tyres, it's about what I feel most confident on. And Rosso Corsa's have been my go to tyres for years, as they just feel more stable at my lean limit. I'll admit I've only ridden on BT56...

    2024 S1000RR seat height.

I don't fancy paying BMW £375 for their options though, when upholsterers charge around £100 to trim the foam in a standard seat.

    2024 S1000RR seat height.

I sat on a new 24 1000RR a couple of days ago, and the seat height definitely felt a bit higher than my 22 bike. Reading the specs it seems the front and rear geometry has been changed slightly?

    New 1000RR

Heard a whisper that the S1000RR is going the way of the R1, and GSXR1000. And production in it's present configuration has ended. Probably due to issues meeting future Euro emission standards. The question is, will it become a triple with less capacity next, and are new 210 bhp, 190 mph road...

    New 1000RR

The chain on my first RR had a couple of tight spots in it by 8k. I used put it on a centre lift stand after every ride, spun the back wheel and lubed the complete chain while it was still warm. Not sure how you could be more ocd than that.

    New 1000RR

My 22 bike had the endurance chain, and I only had to adjust it once in 4k miles, I lubed it regularly though. The standard chain on my 13 bike was knackered by 8k miles, despite lubing it after every ride. I've read the endurance chain is only around £100 if you find out who makes them.

    New 1000RR

After a couple of black RR's I fancy a red one this time. I think BMW are taking the pee a bit, wanting an extra £300 for that though. Not sure the Akra can gives any more power or noise for an extra £700 either.

Help to describe issue with full throttle upshift on quick shifter

My 22 never liked shifting down with the throttle closed. Smooth as butter with any amount of throttle though.

    Barnstormer Maidenhead closing next week

I've dealt with bike sales people with plenty of experience, and some have have been real d1ckheads.

    New 1000RR

I think BMW sometimes give dealers a bit of support, to help shift bikes at the end of the year. Low £17's is where I'd want to be for a new RR, when it's freezing cold outside.

    New 1000RR

The last 2 RR's were bought around the end of the 3rd quarter, and I think both dealers were a bit short off hitting their target bonus. I usually pack up around mid October, so if there aren't any good deals around by then I'll wait until after Christmas.

    New 1000RR

I'm considering another new bike now. I bought my 13 and 22 1000RR's brand new and probably will buy new again. Unless something really low mileage turns up, with a decent discount. In the past there were £1k deposit contributions and even a £600 loyalty bonus a couple of years ago. Now it seem...

    M 1000

Think I read that Motul engine oil has quite a short service life. I was looking at a Pani 1299 R with the 2 ring pistons, until I read Ducati say it needs a big desmo service after 7500 miles of road use.

Need help in achieving '24 K66 geometry settings somewhat identical to '21 K67 M package...

Remind me how to do that, to save me trawling through the handbook.
