    the swich gear comes apart quite easily, the bits you move are just plastic rockers, the main work is done by microswitches on a printed circuit board, there is a guy on here that fixes the circuit boards, (did my LH one). but if it's a feel thing, probably worth taking apart and cleaning up. lh...

    TURNED UP TODAY FITTED AND ALL WORKING LOVELY! Just got to do oil and filter and chain and sprockets now, and then it will be time for a new back tyre before we are off to Spain in September (hopefully)

    i looked at it - but on the gen1 some of the staples holding the cover on don't look that easy to access with a normal stapler, you might need a professional to do it as the stiffening ribs get in the way. ohh err

    Been having a few issues lately with bike not starting in gear (clutch in stand up) had the switch out twice now and it seemed to be all there and "clicking" and seemed to work afterwards. Did it again recently, so I thought I'd check with the GS911 and sure enough the switch is only working...

    Anyone had the standard shock re oiled? Mines a gen 1 - probably should ask HM when this is all over, but looking for recommendations as it's coming up 40000 miles!

    not sure but don't think the gen 2 is much different from gen 1, - i'm 15st and sag was easy to set - hardly any on the front (first ring) damping 3 +3 seems to work nicely on the road - (comfort settings) back - not much sag didn't adjust it ride height up, compression damping 1+1 rebound as bm...

    Re: Winter Workshop so far this season, new tyres, front pads, fork oil, (new chain and sprox - to fit and oil and filter) - sargent comfort saddle - just run in.

    well the 7100 still looks nice and clean (red) after 4000 miles, whilst the 300v looked distinctly "dirty" after maybe 2000 i.e. it wasn't a nice green colour anymore
