i think there were some threads on the IRC one if you look, I was considering it a while ago, but didn't seem to be good value! the HM one is newer as they only did the quickshifter a few years ago, not seen price or reviews on this. My view on the gearbox issue is people may not have much...

don't think bmw one will fit, as gen 3 is fly by wire and gen 1/2 have throttle cables but would be interested to see

Is that 500 miles per year? suppose if it's been to BMW every year for service might be ok, but on mileage wouldn't be at first service. Things like a full akra would swing it for me. Nice colour too

I'm thinking of gaffer taping the hole, see what difference it makes then maybe look for one that I like the look of

I've got a 1980 DT175MX, 91 KDX250SR, 88 FJ1200 and a 98 R1, no more room in the garage. Haven't used the R1 for years, but the others get some use, either pillion for the Mrs, bit of green lane / winter hack or runs with the VMCC. the RR gets most use - done 7000 miles this year so far

oil + filter changes are quick easy and cheap, major (18000) valves coolant plugs and forkoil worth giving to dealer

mine did it again last week, and i seem to have cured it now, the caliper slide pin (top one) had corroded, without taking it apart it seemed ok in that hand / finger pressure was all that was needed to move the caliper / pads. I thought it was ok , but it wasn't. wheel needs to come out to get...

So, will be doing a UK trip this year, and mates booked us into Arrochar for 5 nights, so we have 4 days out riding around the area. Any recommendations on roads not to miss, or where we need to worry about the plod? should i take thermals? cheers
