2015 Fuel tank paint work bubbling/corrosion. BMW Paint warranty?

Update: Spoken to dealership this morning, BMW are willing to pay 80% toward parts, I'll have to pay labour and the rest towards the tank as they're wanting to replace it. I've been quoted ?340. I imagine that having the tank repainted is going to cost similar if not more?

2015 Fuel tank paint work bubbling/corrosion. BMW Paint warranty?

Well I came away unscathed and no Gen 4 ordered (she was watching me like a hawk..). Queried the bubbling paint and was told the seal around the cap had failed allowing vapour to escape, damaging the paintwork. As it's out of warranty the seal isn't covered. There is no paint warranty and any...

2015 Fuel tank paint work bubbling/corrosion. BMW Paint warranty?

Thanks for your replies. Bloody hell Alex, that's terrible especially for barely over 2 years old. Cheers for the tips Jimmy, trying to protect it from dust etc. nowhere else on the bike is there any problems, just around the tank filler rubber seal. I'll see what they say on Saturday, as...

2015 Fuel tank paint work bubbling/corrosion. BMW Paint warranty?

Hi all, as per title, paintwork on my fuel tank is bubbling by the rubber seal on the tank filler cap. I bought the bike (2015 Gen 3 black storm metallic) from new and it's only done 2,900 miles, it is spotless. (I know, I know that's bad, but I have 2 other bikes I use and this is strictly a...

I think so.. Passed me on the right, I tried to tag on, then came across someone scrabbling across the track! :D

    Donnington 29th August BMW/Tyco day

Got my times through.. Fastest time I did in the Novice group was 2:04 - I wasn't pushing myself I got into the trap of following someone round and not overtaking them for a whole lap, but I enjoyed it none the less. Who was the chap who come off before the Melbourne hairpin? Anyone here? Hope...

    2015 S1000rr - Right Turn Assist Pro!

There have been car drivers banned for being caught driving with no hands on steering wheel, so I imagine that applies to bikers also. ^^ That was a clear p*ss take of the law, so a quick 'hands-off' the bars wouldn't be an offence, but riding with cruise control, sitting up with hands off...

    Austin Racing GP1

That looks surprisingly good without the AR decal on the side, very smart. I went for the GP2R on mine, well pleased with it, don't think mine came with a baffle though! Only what looks to be a spare 'packing' cylinder (wire wool wrapped around a metal tube), or is that what the baffle is, be...

    Pilot Road 4's

I've got them fitted to my GSXR 1000 and not had no issues with them in the dry, altho it is 30-40bhp down on the BMW!! They are an outstanding tyre for rubbish weather, but all that tread can only be a compromise, especially considering their wet weather performance. I imagine they would heat...

Difference between Sport and Sport Pro

I'm using cruise control more than I thought I would, brilliant feature. Mine has everything bar the forged wheels. I'm guessing long term, when it comes to resale, the full spec'd ones will be more desirable to the second hand buyer, typical BMW marketing really! These are the two models they...
