I bought a 17 plate s1000xr se last month and it's the best bike I've owned it's an awesome bike that I love to ride all the time I've done 2200 miles on it in less than a month

I used the hp rearsets with the comfort seat and that gave me a good bit of leg room

Bmw comfort seat will give you more leg room and comfort

I rejected my first 2015 bike after a fork leg dropped its oil and a couple of little asembley issues i found (Friday afternoon job) but I've had no problems with its replacement now on 9000 miles

Two years ago when I went to the bike show to decide whether I was goi5to buy the new r1 or another s1000rr after seeing how rough the workmanship on the r1 was compared to the bmw it was an easy decision never mind after I sat on both and the bmw was a much more comfortable seating position etc etc

Radiator and oil cooler guard should be top of your list either evotech wich i recomend or r&g also do one
