i bought my s1000rr last year guy said it had just been serviced by bmw which it has dated 26.5 16 he said it woudnt need done again until 12000 now the light is coming on saying service due 26.5 17 ? is this just a check thanks

Worth noting... Next one after is the 17,000 service which is all the valve clearances which is pricey, I only know that as that's my next big one, should be around 700 quid

Its yearly or mileage based.

Pretty sure the intervals are based on milage, annual servicing is a good shout if your bike is outside.

No, they're time or distance. Either annual, or every 6K, whichever comes first.

Service Intervals

+1. The servicing schedule is based on time and mileage; whichever occurs first. It's all in the Owner's Manual from p213 onwards.
