Hiya all, I have Gen 1 Motorsport with an Akrapovic, after owning blades R1's and other hooligan tools I've noticed that the RR which is amazing in every way you challenge it, just doesn't cut it when it comes to the sound !! The Acky is fairly quiet in comparison ! I'm looking at putting something on that sounds the part but has the looks of the Akrapovic ..... Any suggestions ?? as I hear all sorts of stories about re-maps etc

If you want to change the sound drastically you'll need to go full exhaust or decat. I have the akra shorty on mine and think it sounds brilliant but it does get drowned out by other bikes as its reasonably quiet when exhaust valves are closed. Makes me want to change the pipe sometimes and probably will at some point but have a screaming kwak with full exhaust for noise at the min. You will need to remap with any of the above options as its mapped for the back pressure of a cat. Removing it will shift the a/f ratio all over the place

Take the cat off and it will get significantly louder and deeper. I take it you don't have a baffle fitted?

If the bike is stock ecu and setup you should see how it runs without the cat before looking at a remap. I decated my HP4 and didn't require a remap, which concurs with what BMW told me when I was planning to do it.

Lol brilliant pof.. ive a crappy 160 quid Delkevic 3 inch open can on mine and it sounds terrific.. mine isnt decatted either.

One of the local guys mentioned termignoni ... Not much experience of these apart from on a friends 1199 panigale ... It sounds bloody awesome on that but it does has Pistons the size of Asia !!!!

Actually thats an unfair comment on my wee Delkevic can... its a cheapy not crappy can, I think it sounds brilliant, a real howl off it under hard acceleration then loads of pops n bangs on the over run...just what I need... a nice wee ASBO can.

Was out with a boy last week who was running a 65 plate and had a SC project exhaust on it. Was just the slip on and the thing was popping non stop and sounded good on the throttle too. I've got full akra shorty system and doesn't pop as much as his. Was a bit jealous tbh haha
