Hi chaps

Managed to get myself an Akrapovik for my Gen 3. Is it me or are they quieter than the standard pipe (with the baffles out)?

I wasnt expecting a massive change but thought it may have at least made it a teenisie bit louder but doesnt seem to.

Maybe my earplugs were pushed in more yesterday so it seemed quieter but I dunno :indecisiveness:

Cheers

Look on the brightside...won't get kicked off a trackday now

That is the upside :) Was just wondering if it was me and my ageing hearing or whether they were quieter....

I don't think you're wrong - my long Akro has never been black flagged. But tbh I use it with the db-Killer in too...

I think BMW need a system with a better removable baffle.

Compared my gen 3 with stock can fitted v a gen 3 with akra and the akra sounds quieter, don't know if a drive by noise meter would verify it but agree with comments re trackdays

Akrapovič

The Akrapovič slip-on is noticeably quieter than the OEM exhaust. This can only be a good thing as it means you are far less likely to have any issue when it comes to trackday noise testing. I've used both the Akrapovič slip-on and HP full race system on track and I've not been black flagged with either fitted. That said Akrapovič have always been known for producing quieter exhausts; particularly with their race systems.
