They realised it would rain.
Slippery as F on R11's.
Debating an investment in wets

My mate Manny is there on a bling new Honda. Looks like he is in a garage directly opposite the toilet block. He's borrowing my Toyota Hiace van SD56.... Tell him to buy wets as well!

Wets

If you have spare wheels then definitely consider buying a set of wets. Your missing out on a lot of track time if you don?t.

Dried up...will go steady.

Doh my mate ( who didn't want to buy wets ) has crashed coming out of Gaddards :( Luckily not much damage to him or the bike but he's calling it a day. Donny is an ice rink in the wet, no way I'd be out there without wets.

Its bone dry now but I did nearly tuck the front at the Melbourne loop.

Donington Park

Hopefully it stays dry. Enjoy the rest of your day!

My mate has soldiered up and getting back out for more :) Have fun guys. We have Oulton tomorrow so hopefully that will stay dry as well. Looks horrible for the races on Friday and Saturday.

Was it a trick honda in Redbull trim?

Last 3 sessions were a washout, just fitted some scrubbed V02's as my R11's were dead. Got out, did 3 laps and by the end of the 4th was a downpour...funtimes on slicks.

Managed a 1:51 on my bike, Neevesey wasn't about to allow me out on his 2019 presser.

Had a great chat about it, showed me through the dash etc.

The R11's were F'd already from 3 days of Snett. Pic was just to show how much tread had gone.
Had a long convo with HMT man, he says the best tyre for track road is the Dunlop TT.
But suggested that I should run the 213GP Pro. Will certainly consider it. Once have chewed up my current pile.

Did he explain why? I used d212 and see no advantages over v02. V02 is excellent tires. Cheaper too.

It was in comparison to the R11 & 212Racer (treaded).
I'd always wondered about the 213 Pro, as I wasn't sure I could ride them had enough to keep heat in them. He was adamant I could.

In his opinion the 212Racer is largely irrelevant due to the new TT tyre having such a wide operating window. Still it is fantastic.

The V02's have never driven out of the corner as well as I had expected. They certainly are good value for money all said and done, front tyre is very good...all these tyres are better than me!

Also had these 2 bad boys fitted.
2D GPS laptrigger worked a charm. Set the laptrig to external. Dash automatically starts the clocks and puts up a green light when you're doing well.

HP Datalogger, I sold my old one to get the AIM. But in hindsight forking out only for the Laptrigger was a better idea.

Nothing wrong with the AIM but it can't be hooked upto the extension box and I may aquire one in future.

Duck tape due to rain.
