Can a Lithium battery be brought on a plane?

Right,just spoke to a chap called Neil in Aer Lingus.

He told me thats its fine to bring the motorbike battery onboard.

Print out the PDF sheet and show it to security staff when they ask me about the battery.
 
Motorcycle lithium batteries are not lithium ion,they do not pose the same fire and explosion risk that camera/laptop etc batteries do.

Worth getting that in writing from them....it will hold more weight than a printed .PDF document....?


Asked him for his full name and can he email me a written reply.

He said that company policy prevents him from doing this.

Sure look I will take a chance on buying the battery and lets see how my family member gets on with bringing it over.
