Man, what's with the weather.. baking hot Sunday when I arrived.. poured Monday am..missed 1st sesh.. deliberately.. track started to dry out, 3rd session was bone dry...after lunch had 1.5 sessions then another down pour..which effectively ended the day.

There's noe an evening Session on and it's thundering loudly with intermittent rain.

Hopefully tomorrow looks better..

Sounds like typical British weather especially around Cadwell.

Stu, why don't you turn this bike into track only ?

It's heading that way now... I've ordered a Gen 4 M Sport..should get it in 2 weeks or thereabouts.. need a road bike, as much as I love that MV it's too single minded...

I really don't want to strip out the suspension, to replace it is a lot of money... so over the winter I'll probably remove the front indicators, I feel I need to split the rebound and compression on the front so I'll buy a potentiometer, pay a bit more attention to tyre pressures and learn the craft properly.. I feel I'm coming on fairly well, I was easily in the top 5/6 in intermediate today, on one session only one guy got past me on a Duc..and I tailed him tight all the way in.. but that's not consistent as I was at best mid pack on a couple of sessions at Oulton, there were some super fast guys I had no chance of tailing.. I found its a good way to learn latching on to a quicker rider..

I've a lot to learn..

As stated on here the DDS works well set up properly, I was messing about with the preload earlier, I wound it right out and counted two 360s in.. I'll see how that goes tomorrow

Looks like you're on a right path! I'm really glad to hear that it's working out good for you.

I wouldn't bother about suspension pots yet. I would deffo pay 50gbp to tweak the suspension to make sure it's okay in current format. Tire pressures are easy once you are attached to the brand and have your suspension sorted. It's pretty much a fixed number of psi.

I wud deffo get track fairings, just makes life simpler and a bit more secure.

Take time to adjust clipons and pegs to required offset/height.

Make sure you run decent pads like Z04s

Make sure gearing is sorted too. That helps a lot. I use 16-43 that works pretty much everywhere in the UK.

Short throttle and blipper up/down would be next on the list.

I wud say these are the most important bits for me

Glad to hear you got some decent sessions despite the rain yesterday. I hope today has better weather. Cadwell has a bit of a micro-climate that seems to attract clouds, but it does tend to change quickly. Keep an eye out on Barn turn if its been wet - it takes a long time to dry out.

Good news on the new Gen 4 M Sport!

I'd be tempted to make the Gen4 the track bike and keep the HP4 on the road.

Good advice, I've a full set of OE fairings, carbon parts too including a mint belly pan, so wasn't too fussy about the fairings...I've way overspent in the last 18 mts and still need to punt that MV [emoji102] ! ... no buyers on the horizon, its only been live 1 week tho... can go crazeee if it goes soon.

Been thinking about that . The old dog is getting a bit tired... I'll persevere with the HP till end of season and might consider a refurb like I done Xmas before last when I swapped most of the panels for a mint set I had... she looked amazing when I wheeled her off the hoist.. took it in for a service on my mates trailer, tech said he done a double take at the odo when he switched her on.. think there was 31k on it at the time...so she'll clean up well.. options thereafter...sell or keep and buy a "proper" track bike with all the bits...

Congratulations on the Gen 4 purchase @stuartb [emoji41]
As Alex says, your HP4 is immaculate!

Thank you both for the kind words !... very humbling.... I'm certainly not alone on here, I've seen plenty nice projects on this forum over the years..

I think bike owners are a breed apart when it comes to looking after your ride, it truly is the best way to get to know it.
