Having been suffering from a poor upshift for some time I bought a factory pro spring to try and sort the problem, I stripped the clutch out this afternoon to replace it and found that the selector fork that operates the shift star appears to be suffering from excess premature wear, needless to say this has put the afternoons activities on hold but has anybody else had any problems like this? I will order a shift rod tomorrow from BMW and see if that sorts it.
Having just replaced all of the rear linkage bushes because the bearing where eating into them and it was making the linkage notchy I feel the materials used to build the S1000 could have been better quality. So far I have replace the chain, left switch gear, rear linkage bushes and now the shift fork, not good for 5000 miles!
