A bit late for the op but for anyone else, I had the same issue in a 2011 bike. They do not fit. I returned then and got some clear one from China. Fit perfectly.

OK. Found the source of the petrol stink. It is coming from the track vent pipe at the front just below the exhaust. The pipe end is wet to the touch even half an hour after the bike being switched off. The petrol inside was at about 35C. Alot of heat soak from the cat and engine warming it...

I went to cCannes via route Napoleon in August using Michelin pilot power 3. They done about 3000 miles and still got over 4mm left.

Doing some pressure checking of the pump now to see if there is a system leak or leaky injectors. Does anyone know for a fact if the fuel pump is primed when the ignition is turned on? Reason I ask is that I am getting mixed messages as to when the pump is primed - on ignition or on start...

It is mechanically stock. Original exhaust and cat. Checked all the fuel lines, tank and connectors. They are fine. No drivability issues that I can notice.

OK. I've done some checking. The petrol smell is coming out through the air filter. Any thoughts?

Interesting. IThe dealers had put the clip on last July as part of the recall.

Guys. Every time I park up my 2011 s1000rr in the garage it absolutely stinks for hours and the smell goes into the house. Doesn't matter whether it's a short journey or a long one. Is this normal for the s1000rr? Anyone able to share their experiences. Thanks

Cheers. Thought so. Realised it was on the outer side of the filter not the inner. Would have expected a little drain pipe going down - but then again that would add a "bit of weight".

Hi guys. In my s1k 2011 I noticed a hole in the airbox when I was checking the air filter. Should it have a pipe on it or something? It is on the left filter side when sitting on the bike.

Just like to say hi. Owner of an 2011 s1k. Owned it approx 1 year now. Great bit of kit. Been on tour to the south of France through route napoleon. Got the set now. Bmw 650 convertible S1000rr Bmw cruise pedal bike. Guess which one I use the most ;)
