will be doing a UK trip this year, and mates booked us into Arrochar for 5 nights, so we have 4 days out riding around the area.
Any recommendations on roads not to miss, or where we need to worry about the plod?
should i take thermals?

Been having a few issues lately with bike not starting in gear (clutch in stand up) had the switch out twice now and it seemed to be all there and "clicking" and seemed to work afterwards.
Did it again recently, so I thought I'd check with the GS911 and sure enough the switch is only working...
Anyone had the standard shock re oiled?
Mines a gen 1 - probably should ask HM when this is all over, but looking for recommendations as it's coming up 40000 miles!
Well it's finally gone, after 35000 miles and 9 years - trip switch - I've swapped in a mates - but horn doesn't work on that. New one on order from BMW £213 - doesn't seem to be a freebie any more.
Anyway, had the old one apart and seems to be a dry joint between button and printed circuit...
thought i'd do this myself and use bmw oil - seems type 2 is now recommended for everything 11.5w - seems original was type 1, 7.5w. quite happy with standard - had it changed at dealers 18000 mile service now due again - (3&1/2 years ago), not sure if they would have used type 1 or 2. I've got...
went to go out this morning and found battery low, turns out it's stopped charging!
thought oh probably reg rec ?35 for new one from M&P - took out the old one (not that easy) and checked it seems ok with the ohm meter.
better check the generator - inter winding resitance looks ok BUT same...
had a new set of Corsa 2s fitted and just come back from Spain
Back has done nearly 4000 miles and still as 3mm of tread!
front has 3mm as well but only 2700 (not due to wheelies, but later fitment)

just got back from a week in Spain and France, bike is due for 18000 mile service next week, but has been showing service light as this is overdue.
everything going fine (had been raining) notice service reminder is flashing up whilst going along and then clocks come back on...
had a slight problem with rear brake, wondered if anyone has any ideas?
bike has ABS and BMW HP rearsets. I don't use the rear much.
anyway when i got the bike there was several inches of pedal movement before the brake came on. I adjusted the slack out so maybe 5- 10mm of free movement all...
anyone tried swoping the top shock mounting over to raise the rear and stick it on it's nose a bit?
thinking of giving it a go as I generally like my bikes that way, but doesn't seem much wrong the way it comes, any way all observations welcome before I get the spanners out
