    Gen4 2022. Oil leak.

Since mine went at 4000 miles, ive now done just over 8k and it seems okay. This year (if we ever get a summer) should tell whether it will hold, but who knows.

    Front Head Stand

Yes that can be a pain. I've bit the bullet and ordered this one https://www.nippynormans.com/s1000xr-to-2019/wunderlich-front-paddock-stand-s1000rrr-all-years-incl-2020-on-s1000xr-all-years-incl-2020-on-r-nine-t-model-black

    Front Head Stand

Thanks Alex. I know what you mean, I've tried increasing the length of the pin but all that does is alter the angle in the wrong direction and foul the fairing more. I might have to admit defeat and opt for the under fork design.

    Front Head Stand

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I've just gotten round to trying out my old front head stand (warrior). I need new tyres and wanted to take in loose wheels. Anyway, the old stand fouls the underside of the nose fairing and also touches the side fairings, so much so that it will cause...

    GB Racing Alternator Cover

Thanks Rod, that's good to know.

    GB Racing Alternator Cover

Anyone tried fitting the GB Racing Alternator cover to a stock 2023 RR (stock fairings). Did it interfere with one of the lower fairing bolts or foul the fairing itself making it bulge out?

    Worth it?

Honestly? I'd save the cash and forgo the forged wheels. I also had the option of forged / carbon but went for standard. Didn't fancy ruining a carbon / forged rim on todays cratered roads. I haven't had a second thought about the wheels now and don't regret it. Dealer reckons you'd be messing...

    Gen4 2022. Oil leak.

I got told by an ex employee of BMW that if the same part fails 3 times in a row then you're entitled to a full refund.

    Gen4 2022. Oil leak.

As far as I know BMW use the same design across all gens. You'd think by now they'd know how to build a reliable pump, but no, they still insist on making them out of cheese. All you get from the dealers is "at least you have the warranty to fall back on". Yeah great, what happens when the...

    Gen4 2022. Oil leak.

I've just had mine back after the water pump failed at 4000 miles. New 2023 model so thankfully covered under warranty. That hole is definitely the weep hole for the water/oil pump. Mine had a green slimey liquid (coolant) coming out of it (can't upload photo to show you but you can't miss it...

    Front Head Stand

Yer, saw that on my mates 2023 XR1000 and wondered the same.

    Front Head Stand

Cheers Alex. Let me know how much of a pain it is to remove the plastic cover too...

    Have I wrecked my bike!

You know you could be right. The day I picked it up I was listening to music through the headset, so for all I know it could of always been there!

    Front Head Stand

Anyone tried using a front head paddock stand (the type that lifts from the bottom yoke) on the new 2023 S1000RR yet. I've still got my stand (Warrior) from use with my old gixer and seem to have the right adapter to fit but wanted to know if the clearance was enough so as not foul the bottom of...

    Have I wrecked my bike!

I was worried because the engine wasn't under any sort of load as I'd already pulled the clutch in and then grabbed a handful. Been out today and my paranoia kicked in because there is now a noticable clicking / rattly noise coming from top of engine that wasn't noticable before and the ride...

    Have I wrecked my bike!

Ha! Up at mates caravan. First time been up since they decided to gravel all the site roads instead of doing the job properly with tarmac. It's bloody deep in places.

    Have I wrecked my bike!

Only done 1200 miles, not long since 1st service. Lost my balance whilst riding on deep gravel. Bike started to go over, and i ended up grabbing a load of throttle in 1st whilst clutch was pulled in just to keep it upright. Hit 10,000rpm for about 2 seconds! Have i wrecked it!?

    Lower standard seat?

Sorry was talking bollocks before. Checked again and my standard S1000rr (2023) seat height is 824mm. My Low M seat is 814mm. Therefore with a 20mm reduction from the R seat I chould be looking at 804mm which is even better. Looking forward to your findings.

    Lower standard seat?

Yes I think you're right. I need to speak to the dealer to at least see if it fits. I'd be very interested to hear how it goes with you so please post back and tell us how it went.
