I am in between a full system and a slip on at the moment.. I think a full system would be too freaking loud for long trips, however the Akra page actually says the bike will be quieter than stock with an Akra slip on. Any of you guys have a slip-on on a Gen4 that can give me some sort of idea...

There are no part numbers for any Akra products at this moment. However your dealer will have the option to burn a map for open systems into your ECU using the BMW diagnostics computer. That's all I know.

Whatever you do, do NOT order the S1000RR without pillion package. I did and now I’m literally paying the price. If you order with pillion package and then buy the cowl you’ll pay 300 Euro. If you order without the pillion package and then order it you’ll pay 1100 Euro. What the fuuuuuuuuuuu

Dealer told me today that BMW have supplied dealers with a map for full Akra systems and it won’t affect the warranty in any way. He said Gen3 and lower used to get letters from BMW stating that warranty is limited with full systems, but that does not apply to the Gen4 anymore. Apparently all...

Final update: Got my bike back and all issues with the suspension are gone. No clicking, no clonking, no rattling - all good. Only downside, my steering head nut and the nut on top of the right hand side fork leg are all ugly now. Can clearly see tool usage.. I guess that’s what the nylon tool...

Did your dealer dump in 4.5 liters of oil at the run in service or the revised 4 liters?

Update: Dealer said parts arrived and I'll be able to collect the patient this afternoon. Fingers crossed everything is fine

Since when is brake fluid part of the break in service?!

To be fair OP's issues sound like my first Gen4, which I am now 100% sure was a pre production bike that was not meant to be sold to the general public. @OP, don't worry, the production bikes still have issues, but are far more reliable than the preprod ones.

Any issues with yours so far?

My dealer's opinion about me means very little to me. He knows it's not personal and business can get ugly. I paid 25k for a product and BMW have delivered faulty goods.. twice.

Update: Assembled forks are out of stock. Dealer ordered individual parts now and is going to assemble the fork in the shop :( Bike is going to be gone for a week or so. Have an R nineT scrambler as a loaner. Fun bike!
