Hi from a New Forest newbie

Hi Rednine. Yes I reckon you may well be the oldest on here. I think I used to be at 73. Like you I expect, I’m a young 73 and do All and I mean ALL the things these young ‘uns do. I’m in hospital at the moment having a knee replacement, due probably to kicking off my BSA GOLD STARS in a younger...

    Having a new knee

Well today’s the day! I’m sitting in hospital at the moment, having booked in at 6.30 this morning. A replacement right knee is due after 2 years of discomfort. Had my last run out on the S 1000 yesterday and realised how much articulation my right leg needs to get on the peg. Hope I can retain...

    Seen one!

Was out last night with some friends for our usual Thursday night ride out, when I/ we spotted a sports bike coming the other way. I knew instantly that it was the new 4th generation RR from its aggressive frontal view. Does anyone else think that it looks almost sinister, like a wild thing from...

    New Clocks

This story has prompted me to tell you about a recent experience with my dash/clocks on my 2015 S1000RR. I sent my bike to my dealer, Allan Jefferies of Shipley for a 10,000 mile service in September last year. I too had noticed a white dust or powder forming on the inside of the instrument...

Fitting carbon frame sides but need to remove fairings

Only the obvious 😕 Very carefully is the name of the game. The bits that pop in to the rubbers can be brittle and quite easily broken I?ve heard. Try to see where these are and try to get your fingers each side and as close to the popper as possible. Then gently and evenly ease them apart. I...

What did you get in the post today?

I got my carbon hugger from them too and mine also has the hole. I made up a fine stainless mesh which I glued into the hugger. That stops any stones and stuff getting through. I thought it was a better alternative to just the hole and it looks better too.

    hello everyone

Hello again John. That?s true about the S1000RR about these parts but I think it makes us a little select. I find the bikes stand out in a crowd and I for one like that. I wonder if we?ve bumped into each other without knowing? Next time I see one around here it?s likely it?ll be you I expect...

Workshop Ramp - Stuartb's Winter Wonderland

My headlamp lense melted on my Gen 3, just ticking over in my garage. Standard bulbs too. The lenses do get extremely hot even with the OE bulbs fitted. Luckily I got my headlamp replaced under warranty. I never let the bike idle for long now, if I can help it.
