    Monners Gen 3

A bit of both perhaps? I did give the bike a shampoo and brake clean the calipers but it was only a quick job. They are a bit brownish for some reason. They certainly work, it's like chucking an anchor off the side of the bike :)

    Monners Gen 3

Funnily enough I had this exact same problem as well when I first converted the bike at the beginning of the year. My rear speed sensor was not getting any data and it was because of the spacers being the wrong ones.

    brake pads/ short levers

Damn forum is spinning the picture around for some reason but here's some uber brake porn I put on the race bike this weekend.

    Monners Gen 3

I think I've finally got to the bottom of the brake problems I have been having! All season I've struggled with the discs being tight up against the pads and the wheel not being free to spin. I had a couple of very scary brake failures at the Red Bull Ring which seemed to be sudden over heating...

    Gen 4 test ride feedback?

Many XR have really bad vibes. I test rode one and it was reasonable and then I tried another and it immediately put me off the bike completely. One person reckoned it was differences in torques of the bar ends or something like that at the factory. It seems very unlikely you'd get that on a...

    S1000RR Gen 4 Delivery Thread

It seems odd that a few bikes are trickling through but no sign of a proper supply yet. I must admit I'm having a great time knocking around on the 1250GS BMW have given me and in no hurry to pick up the new bike but I do get pangs of envy when I see you guys reporting back!

    Tyre Warmers

The sweet spot for decent ones is about £200-250 - Capits are very good for instance. You'll get ok ones for £150 but they tend to stop warming properly after a season of use. I've been taking temperature readings on a few different brands and they have gone from 80 degrees to ~50 degrees in...

    She packs a punch

Is your rebound front and rear ramped up quite stiff? I find I need to stiffen up my rebound a few clicks to calm the bike down through chicanes but maybe you are the other way? We have had threads discussing the chain/swing arm length on here before but I run mine long at 120 chain links and...

    Boots

Sidi Vortex didn't do it for me at all and I soon sold them. Way too much plastic and other bits and more importantly they just didn't fit my foot shape very well either. Alpine Stars are always very comfy straight off, Dianese high end are super comfy but don't really last much longer than the...

    Gen4 Full Akra Map

Good to hear. One thing that really struck me about the new bike was how similar the electronics felt to my RS2E superstock mapped race bike.

    This one? :)

Track friendly slip-ons (without a baffle)

I'm quite confident that the Mivv is quieter than the Akro. My Mivv full system is ~101Db. I havn't measured stock or Akro but the Mivv seems quieter than the stock system with Akro end can that I had before.

Track friendly slip-ons (without a baffle)

Thats interesting, perhaps thats what I was doing wrong since I have the link pipe and carbon shield on there still. I'll take a look when I'm home again.

    RSV4 1100 FW Stock1 MM Race 2019

Were you on the NL trip? I was out a week or two before that with Rehm Racing and the top ten were probably 80-90% V4; the Panigales always went really well there. I had a deposit down in the off chance I'd want it but cancelled it for the same reasons.

    RSV4 1100 FW Stock1 MM Race 2019

Cracking times straight out of the box. It looks like a really good deal. I wish all manufacturers would offer these type of deals so you dont have to deal with the road regs junk such as exhausts. A Ducati V4R costs £35k to start with and you need to spend another £4k or more on a decent...

Track friendly slip-ons (without a baffle)

I'm surprised to hear this, those figures are about what you get with the stock cats still installed?

Track friendly slip-ons (without a baffle)

I bought a Miv and full system off of @Scooby and it is perfect at ~101db. Interestingly the system end pipe is narrower than the Akro and will not fit my spare Akro end can but the bike is very very powerful. I dont know if its the system or just the bike engine is good but I'm hesitant to...

    NLR 2020 dates

As above, I’m not a big fan of Cartegena tbh but it’s perfect testing for UK tracks and along with Almeria and possibly Jerez its the most likely place for winter sun. If I’m making the effort to go to Spain then I’d rather go to a GP track.

    NLR 2020 dates

Endurance is definitely more work but can be more satisfying because of it. It’s load more seat time. On a Saturday Endurance I will do five or ten qualifying laps in the morning and often fifty or more laps in the race depending on number of riders. I’ll then do the sprints on the Sunday as...
