I'm not riding the bike 30+ miles to the dealers, with footrest pin circlips missing. It would be more than inconvenient if a footrest detached, and I had an accident. Plus it's sorned for at least 4 months anyway. I would expect them to collect the bike FOC.

I haven't had the letter yet, but someone posted a copy of it dated 30th Oct 23 on Facebook. Other people posted that they knew about it too.

As the BMW recall letter states the footrest could fall off, it's potentially not safe to ride. I'd expect the dealer will pick the bike up and return it FOC.

Anyone had a recall letter for footrest clips?

I thought about buying Arrow headers for ?600 from Italy, but they're sneaky with their pictures now. You cant see if there's balance tubes on the downpipes, or there's a picture of Akrapovic headers, on the Arrows listings. Having been a welder myself years ago, I'm not keen on all those welds...

I quite like the standard Gen 4 can. Just want to get rid of some of the tin and weight attached to the BMW headers.

Has anyone here bought the Akra copy headers from Ali Express? On the yank forum they seem to get good reviews, apart from needing a bit of persuasion to fit. At ?2-300 for stainless, they could be worth a punt.

Interested in a set of Gen 4 headers to decat, must be cheap. Alternatively would consider stainless Arrows headers, bearing in mind they're around ?600 from Italy, so no silly prices for those.

Next target date would be the end of the year, I'd have thought. A year ago the dealer was pretty keen to sign me up before the end of September, to hit their sales target.

I had a 99 R1 and then a K6 GSXR1000, both easy to clutch up in 2nd gear. On my Gen2 I just used power them up in 2nd. I set the wheelie control to 1 on the Gen4, and nothing much happens. Time to turn it off then.

Me too. This years quote was about ?10 lower than last year, told them I'd had 3 quotes cheaper from a comparison site. So they knocked a bit more off, and threw in helmet and leathers cover, and upped the mileage allowance another 1k. I don't want to add up what I've paid out for car and bike...

On my Gen 2 I put it in slick mode after the first service, and left it there until I sold the bike 6 years later. On my 22 Gen 4, I thought I'd turned the wheelie control right down, but it still seems to interfere. Does everything have to be turned off?

Another thing I've noticed on the Gen 4 is, when I stop and put my right foot down, the exhaust is putting out a lot of heat. So much so, that I have to move my leg away from it. And while I'm having a little moan :), I've never really looked at the rev counter when pulling away. I checked it...

The fan on my Gen 4 seems to cut in and run more than my Gen 2 did. It seems whenever I stop with the engine running, the fan cuts in within a couple of minutes. Is that a Gen 4 thing?

My Gen 2 lived on a Warrior side lift stand in the garage, because it had to be stored sideways in front of, or behind a car. It looks like my Gen 4 will fit on the same stand, with a mod to the adapter. I don't get why people use 2 paddock stands instead of a side lift.
