This guy does a lot of Endurance racing with NLR. I am sure he talks costs? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puoMB659Wf0 I also think NLR offer a payment plan for race entries as well.
?1500 seems a good deal for a refresh and peace of mind. I know i would rather have that, than an engine grenading itself at full chat. Pretty sure BMW recommend 4500 track miles. Alpha Racing race engines are 5000km refreshes.
John and Anita are really top, they pulled the stops out to get the bike sorted before Italy. At your height i can see why you would struggle with the RSV. The newer bikes are a tad roomer than the older bikes. Wider bars, longer seat and lower tank. But is still designed for a 5'8" italian! I'm...
I realised I never posted the 2nd RR's replacement. So the 2nd Gen 4 didn't last long, leaking brakes in 70 miles then a knocking with the fork. After a 1000 miles the RR went and i thought it was time to look at something else.
A 2021 RSV4 Factory came up at a very reasonable price privately...
Re: Race Pro settings fJerez circuit Euro track day & Michelin Power cup 2 with warme
I did 3 days at Mugello in September on the Power Cup 2. The tyres seem very sensitive to air pressures I found. To get them bang on i found i had to check them each session as soon as i came in. On warmers...
I am with Bemoto, i did pay ?400 for the last RR Sport 6 Years no claims (licence length) for a rider in his early 40s. The RSV4 is considerably more at ?550.
sorry to thread hijack. But does anyone know if you need a Carnet to carry personal tools? I am going to Europe in September and driving out in my van. The bike is coming and is road registered and platted i am sure you do not need one for a road legal bike. However i will be taking my "Track...
Once Brands finally dried it turned out to be a great day. I just apologise to everyone that I am not on brand anymore haha.
But i will still hang about if that is ok.
Who's at Silverstone in July?
Oh those amazing fork killing clip-ons. Still can't get my head around why BMW thought that design was a good idea.
Regarding Brands, still going even if it rains...rather be at a wet track, looking at my bike and chatting nonsense than working! Even if i get one dry session i am happy.
I am 80KG without gear. When i had mine setup the pre-load was wound off both front and rear (Perry at HM racing set it up). If i recall the stock settings on the RR are all set at 7-7-7. Go from there to see how you get on, but as everyone has pretty much said the pre-load is the first place to...
I stuck them on Ebay for more but no real interest.
The flapper delete kit removes the air intake flaps on the intake tube (they are act as a sound baffle). Apparently those also help keep lots of warm air when closed below 6k.
Tbh most road or average track bikes probably don't need the kit...
