Steering suddenly feel stiff

Just got my bike back from a European trackway trip and the steering feels much stiffer than I remember from before - It's been loaded and strapped down top a stilage and then unloaded and strapped into the back of the van but both times strapping was on the handlebars only. I can't see any obvious problems - any ideas?

Have you checked the steering damper?

Yes - all seem Ok - stiffening it up makes the steering even more solid!

Flat tyre? Hard to guess.

Unbolting the steering damper would be my next thought but that's assuming something is wrong

Had a similar problem at a track day, stopped and checked pressure but all ok, was a warm day and the front was just gripping the tarmac.
