Full right lock means the wiring loom gets trapped by the left fork leg before the stop.
Clutch lever free plays is non existent on full right lock (Well up against the wiring loom anyway).
Plastic fairing clips are made from cheese (Went to look for the ancillary plug under the left panel as per owner's manual). Glued it back on and will ask the dealer for some more.
Indicator switch is crap.
Loads of mechanical noises (Rattles) from the engine (May disappear with the 1st service oil change). Makes a Jap engine sound serene lol.

Butttttttttttttttttttttt
I f'ing love the way it moves and skips over bump's with a press of the button.
The way it takes off in 6th past those moving chicanes.
The precision of corner entry.
Direction changes are in another league to my Gixxer.
Pops and bangs aplenty. Almost too much for a long ride.

Love it :pride:

I'm hoping to get out on mine today, my heart was sinking as I read through your list of woes.
I do hope it makes me smile as much as you say or I might regret not going for the 1299.

Hmmm will check the loom on full lock on mine as that sounds like a potential bucketfull of fail a few thousand miles down the road.

Agree about the indicator switch, it's so small pointy and fiddly. Also I find I have to rotate my hand around the bar slightly to get at it, which puts my index finger right on the flasher, so every time I try to indicate I end up main-beaming some poor sod.

Popping and banging I love, nobody else seems to though... it's odd having a stock noisy exhaust, when I get dirty looks I feel like shrugging and saying "Not my fault- it came like this!"

How do you find the engine noises, am I listening to much?

Not sure- the cam noise is very "fizzy", but smooth sounding if you know what I mean. I guess that's the sound of rockers vs buckets/shims. But I've not noticed any rumbles or anything that sounds horrible. The chain came a bit slack on mine but I've left it for the moment.

I also get some vibes through the bars though. On the first day I took it out of London down to Box Hill and when I got there my phone felt like it had the haptic feedback turned to max. Spend a few minutes trying to turn it off before I realised that everything I touched felt like it was buzzing!

Don't think I've noticed vibe issues tbh. My chain also came slack and so was the clutch free play.

Took my late 13 bike out for it's first ride this year, thought this will do just fine for now.

Is it my imagination? Took out a '15 last week and noticed the chain adjuster seems to be on max? If it's not then it must be a bloody long bolt lol

God I hope this bikes not as bad as a lot of you are portraying it as. I'm coming off a 20th anniversary fireblade and an 09 before that. I've never had a bit of bother with any of the 2 of them . I went for this after seeing it at the NEC and reading all the reviews from the mags. I think I'll get a test ride before I sign up to it as that way if I walk away I'm only losing my deposit.

I'm sure it will be a good bike, I've only managed one ride on it so far so can't comment on any issues.

For me it was a case of the 2014 'blade vs a 2012 S1000RR - I am here not on the Fireblade forum. The Beemer is more comfortable. The electronics package makes real road riding safer. The power is silly. And that's the 2012. Getting the 2015 is a significant step on again. The 'blade wasn't bad it's actually epic and so exploitable but it's just lacking the extra spice. I'd honestly love both...but that's why I chose the Sthou

Keep the faith, you'll be fine, just folks with niggles. You will rarely hear about those that don't. there's going to be a couple of issues here and there with a new model.

I'm in the same boat, 20th anniv blade after an 08 but so looking forward to mine, hopefully next week. Not put off at all as the bulk of reviews are good!! A new model always has minor issues!!

The S1000 is the without doubt the most fantastic bike I have ever ridden. I'm a little disappointed as the build quality doesn't match the ride. I'm going to get the dealer sort the trapped wiring loom at 1st service.

All I can say is this will be my third s1000rr , I have had r1 , blades , nothing touches the Bmw , wait till you lot get that limiter off , then the fun starts

God yeah, from my point of view these are all just niggles, I've never owned a bike that didn't have them, especially the first iteration of a new model..... When you're on it and riding it they all melt away, the thing is awesome.

Well im out on my bike now and am trying to pick faults in it and all I can come up with is the mirrors could be a bit wider for my frame 6ft and 16 stone the pegs could be a little lower for me lol none of the above bothers me to much, the bars vibrate more than my 2012 bike but im sure that will get better as the bike loosens up and the quick shifter isn't as smooth going down the box as it is going up, but the bike is awsome and I love it

I've had 2010 light crank,2011 heavy crank,2012 and HP4.I spent the last couple of days running-in the 2015 and I can honestly say that I cannot fault it(apart from wishing it had supercorsa sp's instead of k3's).Next stop, first service then dyno.
