Finally finished working on my Gen 2

Hey all,

Been asking for quite a bit of help since I joined this forum, and its all came in very useful. If finally finished working on the bike now, luckily as im at Mallory Park on sat. Some of the changes/upgrades I have made are the following.

• Brembo rcs19 m/c with sbf660 fluid
• Rebuilt callipers with new seals titanium bolts and dual carbon pads
• New Nitron shock, made for my weight etc
• Ohlins internals on the front, with correct weighted oil and spring etc
• New Renthal chain and sprocket, sticking with original gearing for now.
• Metzler td slicks
• Aim solo 2 laptimer
• Full service

Prob a few other bits I have forgotten, here are a couple of pics. The body work I tatty, but I ran out of time to get it sorted. Does not effect the bike tho

You mean you've stolen the lads RCs lol.. they look good too.

Some speed these things can get up too, what kind of money is a decent one with the controller etc

What made you go for the Nitron? Not seen many use one so I'm interested to hear what it's like.

Well done Dan,

I've got a Nitron shock on a road only 2005 Triumph Daytona 955 with the spring matched to my weight, I like it and its a plush ride, really nice! Its not a racing bike granted, but I think it is a quality engineered product.

20 years ago I took up RC racing with off-road Losi off-road buggies and did it for about 10 years with my son who was about 8 at the time, we loved racing them together. Losi 1/10th scale electric, some of the best times we had together. He now works in 3D printing and does specialist work for various car manufacturers including F1 teams based out of Silverstone circuit. He was later inspired to become a precision engineer, he was average at school, did his GCSEs and went on to do A Levels, worked out what made him happiest and managed to get himself a place on a Motorsport degree course and never looked back. Very proud of him....

Dan, make that time to enjoy the buggies with your son, it will bring a much greater depth to your understanding of each other and will pay great dividends in the future.

He steals it off me to be fair lol. I brought as something to get the kids out the house more often. The fact its quick and takes a beating is a bonus lol.Must have had it 15ft in the air, and still roars off lol

Iv heard good reviews about Nitron, and for my level of skill, I would have though anything above standard would be more than adequate. So I took the plunge, and when it arrived I was surprised at the build quality and the engineering behind it. Gave me all the info on weight what its set to etc. Im riding on it Saturday, and getting the suspension guy to go over it all. Il take those details with me so itv can fe fine tuned, Looking forward to using it, I reckon it will completely change the feel off the bike.

That sounds incredible mate. bet your so proud of your son, I know I would be. Who would have through, from playing down the field it would inspire him to that path of life. Your completely right, when me and the lad are playing with it, its nice to talk about physics and science behind it etc. I can see what he is learning at school more as he applies it to this.
