Is this to go to a dealer or the insurance company? If dealer then not very impressive not to use a specialist bike transport.

i think its a bike breakers who do the recovery and inspection for the insurance company, im sure there a conflict of interests there somewhere.lol . even if the bike breaker gets the bike then surly they want it in best condition possiable. im 100% sure this will be more damaged than when it left my garage. oh well onwards and upwards.lol

That is truly ****. How can you transport an almost new bike (any bike) like that. If it does get repaired you'll be finding secondary damage for weeks. I know it potentially looks like a wright off but that wont be confirmed until its properly assessed. When you are already feeling **** - that happens to your bike.

im quite disgusted by it really, all most wish i wasn't in to see it happen. only owned it 7 months but treated it like a member of the family from day one, in fact better than some of the family.lol

Pretty sloppy that, first thing to go at any breakers are the panels, if panels are in good nick people will buy them for that reason whether they need them at that time or not...I've done it in the past... you think they'd take more care..ulterior motive jumps to mind.

If it's not been confirmed a total loss then you should have kept it at home until it is or it gets authorised to repair it. It is not incurring any storage costs while it is still in your possession and technically it still belongs to you until a settlement has been agreed. The insurance company could have sent out a field engineer to your home to inspect it.

i did ring the insurance company in the morning to ask why its not being assessed at my house. they said that this is the way its done. i did send them loads of pictures of damage so i do think they have all ready decided its a write off before they collected it. having said that they didnt ask for any paperwork which i thought they would have kept with the bike if the knew its written off. the only little thing thats annoying is they do know i want first refusal on a buy back but again i recon its going to be 10K+ which is more than i would want to spend. hopefully find out today or tomorrow whats going on.

also if its not being written off then the only people i will let rebuild it is my dealer i had it from.

WTAF! my insurance company has emailed my a letter today saying there going to cancel the salvage company collection as they now think it needs to go to a bmw specialist. what the ****.lol i rang them to tell them the salvage company collected it yesterday and i wasn't happy about the way it was collected. i had one shocked woman on the other end of the line.lol the bike is now being sent to where i suggested it was sent in the first place, Cotswold bmw. ive also been in touch with Cotswold to advise the way the bike was strapped down, so they will have a good look for wheel damage too, im sure they will have anyway. i had a quick chat with tech and he said nearly all damage to chassis will result in write off. so now its a waiting game again.lol

sorry to hear about your crash, wishing you a speedy recovery,i had the same thing happen to me a few yrs ago when my 11 rr broke down bmw breakdown sent a lorry and wanted to chain my bike down,i told them to **** off,in the end they sent a proper bike van.who vid the bike befor loading it on the van,

Progress is good. Take is easy. Might be frustrating at times getting mobility and strength back, we all heal at different rates.

All the best with the healing up buddy, take it easy and don't try and too much.
