With all these high end bikes with top top drawer components. It’s all about the feel of the bike.

Irrespective of rider ability it will all be about how it feels on track, the weight, the turn in, the cornering stability, the throttle response etc. A talented rider on a std road bike will always be able to ride around an average joe on a Desmosedici/RC213/HP4 Race etc

It’s a bit like dating a supermodel or a porn star etc and saying you prefer a date with the girl next door. It’s all personal choice and embracing the opportunities available to us.

Definitely. Hope you enjoy it mate

Yep, don’t listen to anyone. It’s your inner voice that tells you it’s a good idea. I’m glad you’re going to ride it and it’ll soon appreciate financially. You’re unlikely to come across many out there. I have a few bikes and my tricked up TL1000R still is the most fun to ride including my tricked up Gen 3. 👍

I guess a consideration is... where do you go after an HP4 Race.. the component parts alone !... need to be an ex race bike...100k ?

I was only wondering how it would compare to the Gen 4. Didn’t mean any negativity

Be interested to hear his thoughts and feedback if you meet up with him again 👍

Chances are I’ll probably see him at Jerez in February, I’ll male a point of having a chat with him

If you want to know how it compares against other bikes, message Neevsey or 44 teeth as they have ridden them all. I did this before I bought HP4 Race.
Their answer was simple, there is absolutely no way you can compare the HP4 Race to a V4R or the new BMW. Its absolutely miles ahead of them.
Having built a few top spec race bikes and having ridden the HP4 Race a fair bit on track I totally understand where they are coming from, the bike is sublime, perfect in any way.

Did it make me go any quicker, no it didnt, but thats down to my ability and not the bike. However as time goes on and it becomes "less precious", Im sure the times will come.

Also had numerous email discussions with Dylan, Keith Codes son frok California Superbikes school who run a HP4 Race.

100% agree. Just like 600hp Nissan going faster than a Porshe or Ferrari, it doesn't make it more desirable or enjoyable to drive, it just means its going faster! I'm the first one to take smug satisfaction from going around the outside of a litre bike on a 600 but it doesn't mean I'd rather have a £2k R6 shitter than a £50k HP4 race!

Don't you need to push it to the limit to feel how it handles? At least that's how I feel it.

For me, with the HP4 R, no not really. You just need to push it in the pits (not joking) to notice a difference. When riding it, even though you are not going any faster than you have before it just so right.
Its really hard to explain.
After riding it for the first time the words that came to mind were absolutely sublime, and after a m8 rode it he said exactly the same and they are not words he would use either.
