Not 100% on it...but anyway.
Exhaust
Bracket changes - due to the re-working of the exhaust/fairings to suit.
Electronics updates - due to Euro4 - which leads to;
RCK4 is coming out - which is what I think has led some others to call it a Gen4 (I am not the first).

2017 also brings an uprated alternator - im guessing to address the numerous electrical gremlins/dead batteries on the 15? Or was that just my 15??! :concern: Gen 3.5?:beguiled:
I believe the 2017 features a new improved (larger memory?) ECU .......maybe this explains why the bike feels more refined than the 2015? Throttle/DDC/fuelling/blipper all feels smoother and more refined....could BMW have utilised the extra ECU memory to improve these areas?

Before starting with the covers you need to take off crash bungs, side panels, horn (RHS) and the exhaust servo (LHS). I took more off cause I was doing other things too...
I recommend doing a dry run of how to fit them on before coating them in sealant. The LHS with the gear lever and the exhust servo side is quite tricky.
Bonding time...I'm no artist.
That tube is a PITA to extract from and do anything neatly with...where it went a bit thick I used the metal loop tool that came with the sealant to push it around a little so that it wasn't some giant peak I had to push and coerce when fitting the covers to the frame.
I used isopropyl to clean the frame. Stuck the cover down and used hand clamps whilst I got some zip ties on.

Fitted the Slick Chip. It’s on the RHS now compared to the Gen2 at least, don’t know if that’s net new.
Also, WTF is that lead on the LHS with 3 pins?

Set USER mode up, Slick Engine Race everything else (Track time beckons).
Fitted this filter - Sprint P08 - err cause I had it lying about - I bought it for the Gen2 but it seems to fit the Gen3.x-4 ok :)

There's about 4 issues with the fitting at the moment. But no absolute show stoppers...I think.
Considering Keith and I did a design verbally - leaning heavily on his own bikes e-RR look I think it's come out pretty well.
When the blue wheels are on it will possibly be even better!

Tomorrow it ships to Jerez. So tbh after the fun and games of the last week I'll just be glad to swing a leg over it and not have to hire a bike after day one! My other half has been slightly tortured by the last 3 months, stuff everywhere in our 2-bed flat.
Once back it will go back to road trim till September at the least - whether I go on track or not.
Tomorrow it ships to Jerez. So tbh after the fun and games of the last week I'll just be glad to swing a leg over it and not have to hire a bike after day one! My other half has been slightly tortured by the last 3 months, stuff everywhere in our 2-bed flat.
Once back it will go back to road trim till September at the least - whether I go on track or not.

ps : when You ordered Your RR 17 and add pilion pack did You get with bike both plastic cowl cover and pilion seat and pegs or just passenger seat and pegs ? Im asking because my friend now just bought new 17 RR and get just pillion pack no plastic cowl cover ...

Yes it seems you get one or the other, having a bit of a debate about that right now. I have a carbon cowl do don't need the black one, but I'm annoyed at having to return it for the pillion pack. Need the seat for touring.
