Alex - 2017 S1000RR - Grey/Black

My track tank cover rubbed the tank and took chunks out of the paint, when I first used it in April '17. The black vinyl tape is covering up the damage visible when 'out and about'.

Check the top of the fueling too! ;)

The Auto Adaptivity is currently baking my noodle. I've been thinking about it in relation to the odd hesitation when at a small static throttle openings (30/40mph constant).
I think it's dropping into a O2 Closed Loop mode, because most vehicles do that on cruise.
Closed loop is where the ECU is asking the O2 sensors, 'are you seeing this voltage yet?' And adjusts the injectors until the O2 sensors return the right voltage (which is when they read a certain AFR i.e. 14.7:1 (Stoich).
The clump of -5's (Maximum set negative adjustment) in that area of the map would suggest that in closed loop it just not able to get the voltage into the right place and gets its knickers in a twist.

So I think that I need to test -10 and see if the same behaviour occurs. Anyone got a better idea?
 
Bit odd, that means its always limited by the initial min/max if left on.

Shrug. I?ll do some testing on that. I forgot to save out the map again...

Pretty dusty from being unused!
Just test fitted them to the '17 to make sure they bolt on ok. As they do I will fit the slicks to them for Jerez at the very least.

I really wouldn?t worry about what they look like fitted. It?s always useful to have a spare set of lightweight wheels and Titax are really good; especially for the price. Whatever the colour I?m sure you will put them to good use on track.

I have a couple of bits of trim ready to go on for the road. I've really got no track time booked till October at present, Jerez.

Clip-ons + the e-Throttle are the main change I'm thinking about.

As for the '19, I don't really want to swap to a new bike, but the depreciation of mine will take a hit if an all new model arrives and that needs to be considered.

I?m in much the same position as you. Fortunately my bike doesn?t need anything new apart from fuel and tyres.
 
Yeah I'm confused at not being broke this year due to bike needs...last year at this time I was gearing up for my first Euro trip then swapping to the '17, renting bikes for trip 2 and getting the '17 out to Jerez (trip 3) in track trim only to drop it...all by the middle of April.

As it stands the first thing I have to do on a bike is the 13th of April...a Friday...

Alex, you think the bike will depreciate that much? still having to pay good money for a >2012 model+ so don't think it will be that bad not for a s1krr anyway. a 2014 blade around 7500, i don't think you can pick up a 2014 BM for that dollar?

Its something I will pay attention to, thats all. The RR is pretty good on the whole. But the first 2 years see the largest decline and then it levels off. A new model with very few copy over parts could push prices either direction.
