Hi,

Just finished changing the detent spring on my 2012 S1000rr, took her out to try and my oil filter gasket blew out the side, about 1/4 of it, spewing oil everywhere.
Can anyone advise what the play should be in the oil pressure regulating valve? I took it out and found the shuttle almost impossible to move by hand. Should this be free to slide?
I know it could have just been a case of filter not as tight as it should be but just want to ensure its correct before I refit the valve and sump etc.

Thanks, Scott.

I think it's a relief valve. There is no regulating valve. Oil filter tightness at fault mate.

Cheers for that. I went past the Bmw garage with the valve (puzzled face when he saw it, ha ha) and confirmed it was correct. All refitted and sump on, just waiting on oil. Thanks, Scott
