This is based on a HIDS4U small ballast kit. (35w slim pro plus) The small digital ballast fits under the ignition barrel.
This is not the canbus compatible kit, but no bulb error is displayed as the headlights are not on the bulb error list. The canbus kits all use the standard size ballast, good luck finding a spot for that to go!
Prep work, you will need to get some cable ties linked together to hold the ballast and starter in place, may seem daft but will look like this

You should also remove the circular cover from the light as this will need drilling.
You should also test the kit works whilst the cover is off. Once you know the kit works then sort out the wires, remove the 2 spade connectors from the rubber seal in the kit.

Drill a hole through the backing (about 25mm) and feed the spade end through the rubber mount and fit into the circular cover, this seems daft but makes sense when you see the wiring as without removing the spades the hole in the cover would be bigger.

I left the bulb in the protector until ready for fitting, if you do this you will have to break the protector but it's throwaway anyway.
The ballast was fitted on top of the frame under the ignition barrel

Secured with the foam sticky they provide and the cable ties prepared earlier, going through the eyelets on the ballast.
The starter was then stuck to the side of the frame right at the front and again secured with cable ties. This has to be right at the front so it does not stop the forks from turning on full lock.
Just need to connect all the wires again and replace the circular bulb cover.

Final fitting is a little bit messy on the wires but I will get some heat shrink to tidy them up.
End result is a much whiter light

Took about 60 minutes to fit, but this included stopping and taking the photos as well as hunting around for a sticky pad for the starter.

Lastly do not reply with quote to this due to all the images, and will make the page stupidly long!

No. Just went for it and thought others would find helpful. Most important thing is non canbus kits work on the new bike
