The banning of vehicle modification in the UK

I have just completed the survey.
Limitations are one thing but full on bans with legal threats is another.

Modifying your motorcycle could be made illegal.

New plans proposed by the Department For Transport (DFT) could make fitting some non-OEM parts a crime.

We have just 4-weeks to prevent this from happening!

More information on the law:

Under the proposed changes it would be a crime to ?tamper? with ?a system, part or component of a vehicle intended or adapted to be used on a road?.

The proposals are part of the DfT?s ?Future of Transport? review and are lumped in with lots of other vehicle standards that the department is looking to modernise.

Can't see how that will be controlled, nuts and bolts are hardly a small number plate. There will be a lot more chases lol

Enforcement is stupidly hard for sure. But if you can't get an MOT anymore...

Never thought of that. so ok for 3years (from new) then problem will arise regarding OE parts no longer available so bike gets binned lol.

who says that the MOT station will know whats OEM or not so cant see that being an issue,unless you go to a main dealer

I was guessing that the MOT would be one method. Assume it will give the police powers to pull you over for being a dick/nuisance
