Rolling and engine in but not happy with the engine so it?s coming back out

Tank dipped and platinum plated so paint should be perfect. primed and under coated
So that?s about as far as putting back together as av got. Have loads of new parts from America plus a muzzy carbon fibre Airbox and rams
Brembo front brakes have one for rear too but not sure how am going to fit it. The the normal braided lines silicone hoses will be trying to get engine back out soon and crack back on with it

Wow!!!
What you are doi g there is very impressive, love it.
I've had 3 various zxr750's and the last one being 1998( ?) ZX7R in green. Loved each and every one of them .

Thanks for bumping this Phil, I'd meant to comment but forgot.

Excellent work, tank looks amazing, would love to do a project like this in the future.

Looks a good job there mate.. did you rewrap the loom or is that a replacement, what's up with the motor that your pulling it back out ?.. bench work is a breeze when it's not mounted..

Thank you all for the amazing comments. This is the first bike I have ever done and am really pleased with how it?s going. Will get some pics of the bits I had made off the guy who made all the original muzzy bits they will just make it look awesome. The loom was in really bad shape so I stripped it repaired all the broken wires and terminals then rewrapped it all. Took 8 hours. Engine is coming out because am really unhappy with the powder coating on the casings and the engine paint work. So will start again with that. Hopefully have more pics soon

So av took a big decision to go out my comfort zone and try something new. So engine is coming out as planned but it?s getting completely stripped to bare block and have a bit of work done. Ie crank lighted and balanced plus rods, head ported and polished racing cams. All built back up with all new parts or reconditioned. This will be my first engine build so fingers crossed lol. But then am going to bolt a turbo on only because I want to see if I can actually do it. Will be doing as much of the work myself as possible but I do have a few good friends I will be getting involved to help out. Just hope the wife doesn?t see how much am spending lol

Thanks for the updates, fantastic work.

Good luck with the engine re-build, will you use a workshop manual to strip it etc or use photo's to log what goes where?

Will be both if am honest. Have full workshop manuals but pictures of everything always helps. When I first stripped the bike I took 100?s of photos just for extra help also kept a note book of every nut and bolt. Hopefully I shouldn?t have too many problems

This is awesome! I do love seeing build threads like this and especially it being a ZX7R. Always had a soft spot for these bikes.

This is why i won't get a project. I'd not know when to stop. I am bad enough with a new bike haha.

Can't wait to see the finished article and the engine build should be fun.

Yeah I have a fortune in it now but will keep plodding on with it. Have a few good ideas to go at so hopefully starting putting it together so I can do a mock of turbo and intercooler soon then engine out and prep
