Couple of annoying differences from the gen 3.... Front wheel re-installing, centre tube between both bearings keeps dropping making it a pita to get the spindle back in as it jams up.

Rear wheel, standard sprockets, can't remove chain by pushing wheel forward as it's up against the swing arm, needs to be lifted to get another few mille and even then it's tight.

Think BMW made a mistake doing away with user mode, apart from pro modes there's no adjustment

The wheel spacer seems to be a problem that pops up occasionally. Because not everyone is having the problem, it sounds like the bearing machining is correct and it could simply be one of our bearings isn't fully in?

Put the wheel on it's side and on top of say other front tyre. Find a socket that's flush with the outer of the wheel bearing but doesn't contact the wheel itself, align spacer a gentle hit with a rubber mallet. `do the same on the other side.

Always check when the spacer is snug and don't go too far and put a side load on the bearing. J

Thought about that, would've thought doing the spindle up would've sorted it.

Been thinking about this.... it MIGHT be possible if the outer race isn't fully home when he releases the compression on the spindle/inner race it's possible that it could be just enough for the spacer to drop... that being the case there would be an unusual perpendicular force and the races misaligned.. Good shout on checking that outer race is correctly seated.

The spindle?s loading the centre of the bearing. You need to knock in the out portion of the bearing. If all put together properly, there?s no side load on the bearings at all.

My front wheel was the same. Absolute pita to get the spindle back in. Dealer fixed it - probably by following Jamie's instructions!
