My only major issue I have with Electric vehicles is the huge mileage you have to do to actually break even with the massive carbon footprint created with making them. A mid sized electric car is 44,000 miles (77,000kms) before you start being green. That's without considering where the electricity comes from to charge them.

Who owns a car long enough to break even?

Totally agree, technology has jumped forward but until wind and water can be harnessed successfully I'll stick with suck, squeeze, bang, blow .....
